I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I added quite a few books once again this week. I am trying to use restraint when it comes to requesting books for review right now but I am not having a lot of luck. I love to read but I just can’t seem to stop looking for new books to add. I was able to grab a whole lot of reading material for under $1 this week.
With Malice by Eileen Cook
Fowl Language: Welcome to Parenting by Brian Gordon
The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell
I couldn’t resist Fowl Language since I love these cartoons that I have seen all over the internet. I requested The Girls in the Garden quite a while ago and just had my request approved. It looks like a good read. With Malice sounds pretty amazing – I couldn’t help it. I had to click on that one.
The Fireman by Joe Hill
I am still a little shocked that I was actually approved for The Fireman. I am really looking forward to this one.
Kindle Freebies
Harmony Black by Craig Schaefer (Kindle First pick)
Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper by J.L. Bryan
Evil Intentions: How an Act of Kindness Led to Senseless Murder by Ronald Watkins
Black Falcon’s Lady by Kimberly Cates
Gather the Stars by Kimberly Cates
I don’t even try to use any self control when it comes to freebies. I grab any and all that sound like something I might possibly want to read some day.
Paid Books
The Kingdom by Amanda Stevens
I have had the first book in this series sitting on my kindle for a long time. When I saw this book on sale for $0.99, I had to grab it.
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!
I got the Girls in the Garden too. I am exited to get to it. Enjoy all your new books!
I requested that book so long ago that I had kind of forgot about it. When I got the approval email this week, it was a nice surprise.
You have a fantastic and varied haul this week, Carole! I hope you'll enjoy all your new books.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

I do like to mix up my reading. I get bored if I read too many books in any one genre. I do hope these books turn out to be great!
I agree – mixing things up it great 🙂
I've found Joe Hill a bit hit and miss but I like the sound of The Fireman. Hope it turns out good. Enjoy your books!
I am crossing my fingers that The Fireman will be a good one. Thanks, Chuckles!
I hope you like your books, and have a good week reading!!

Thanks, Joann! I do hope that all of these will be good reads.
I've had Ellie Jordan Ghost Trapper for some time, but haven't read it yet. Great haul you have this week!
Who knows when I will get around to that one but it looks pretty good so I decided to grab it now.
I've just properly read the summary for The Fireman and I'm kind of intrigued. Awesome luck being approved for it! Hope you enjoy.
I was so excited to be approved for The Fireman and more than a little surprised to be honest. Crossing my fingers that it is a good one.
Great haul! Hope you enjoy your books.

Thanks, Diane! I do hope that they will all be winners.
Great haul. I really need to read a Joe Hill book. I know a lot of people who love his work.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I have only read one other book by Joe Hill but I did enjoy it. I love horror so I am hoping this one will be good.
With Malice sounds really good. I'm hoping to read it soon myself. Enjoy your new goodies this week!! 🙂
I saw a review for With Malice on goodreads that had me running to request it. I hope it is as good as I think it will be.
I got The Girls last week…can't wait to read it! Now I want The Fireman. Enjoy…
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I can't wait to read all of these. Too bad life keeps getting in the way. 🙂
That's quite the haul. I have a problem with requesting too many books too, because I'd like to read some oldies too. But I've done a really good job of not requesting them lately, and I only have two left. 🙂 Now that I'm talking about it I have an itch to see what's out there.
I never seem to get the chance to read all of the books that I have bought over the years. I will do really good at controlling myself and almost catch up and then I go back to requesting everything.
With Malice sounds so good! Happy reading!
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
I saw a really good review for that one. I hope it is as good as I think it will be.
Great haul! I haven't really heard about any of them but can't wait to find out what you think.
Happy Reading!
I can't wait to get a chance to read them. Thanks for stopping by!
looks like you have some great additions to your shelves. I love getting good freebies. Hope you enjoy them.
I can't pass up a good deal but I do try to only pick up freebies that I think I might actually read at some point.
Fowl Language is seriously tempting me! It always makes me laugh. Yay for Lisa Jewell and Joe Hill! Both are authors I really want to read – especially Lisa Jewel. Hope you enjoy them!
A lot of the cartoons in Fowl Language are the same ones that I have seen floating around the internet but it still made me smile. I am really looking forward to the Joe Hill and Lisa Jewel books.
Fowl Language seems like it will make you LOL. I've seen With Malice and Girl in the Garden around, but haven't gotten on board yet. Hope you have a wonderful week and happy reading!
Fowl Language was pretty funny. I hope your week is wonderful as well!
As you know, I got The Girls in the Garden as well! I'm very intrigued by it. I hope we both enjoy it 🙂
I am really hoping that The Girls in the Garden is a good one.
Interesting haul this week Carole! Fowl Language seemed so funny! Looking forward to your thoughts on that one 😉 Freebies are a danger to our resistance, hope you enjoy your books 🙂
I downloaded and read Fowl Language right away. I did think it was funny. I don't stress too much about getting the freebies read. I know that I will have more reading time in my life at some time to catch up on all of these books.
I have the same problem, Carole, I can never stop getting new books even though I already have so many to read! 😉 I hope you enjoy every one of these. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I think that I might like collecting books as much as I like reading them. I just can't seem to stop myself.
Great haul! It looks like you got some good freebies 🙂
Danielle @ Life With Two Boys
I am always on the lookout for a good freebie!
The girls in the garden looks really good! I hope you enjoy all of the books you got! Happy reading 🙂
Sofia @ SofiaLovesReading
I'm really excited about that one! I hope that they all end up being as good as they sound.
I can't wait to read The Fireman. Have you read many of his other books. I love Horns! Great haul.
I probably won't be able to get to The Fireman until closer to publication. I read Heart Shaped Box and enjoyed it but haven't picked up any others.
I think all of your NetGalley books look great, particularly With Malice. Have a great reading week.
I am looking forward to With Malice. I will probably need to wait until closer to publication to read it though.
I have the Amanda Stevens book through Netgalley. I have got to get around to reading that one soon!
I also have the J.L. Bryan book; I did a tour for that one a while back.
Some of your other books look really interesting, especially the Joe Hill book.
I hope you enjoy them all!
I am not sure when I will get to the Amanda Stevens book but I felt like I should pick it up while it was on sale. I couldn't pass up the J.L. Bryan for free.
Girls in the Garden has an appealing cover. Enjoy your latest haul 😉
