I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I went a bit crazy this week. I would say that I lost control but I don’t really think I even attempted any control this week. I actually feel okay about the audiobooks and the digital books that I added this week. I admit that I probably bought too many print books this week but I don’t even care. Books don’t have an expiration date and they don’t go back so we will get to them when we can. I was off a couple of days this week during my teenage daughter’s spring break and we had a lot of fun shopping for books together. Some of the books in the last couple of photos are hers, some are mine, and some are for both of us. We had fun and didn’t spend a lot of money so that is a win in my opinion.
Menagerie by Rachel Vincent (Purchased)
Pack by Jeaniene Frost (For Review)
The Church of Dead Girls by Stephen Dobyns (For Review)
The Killing Jar by Jennifer Bosworth (For Review)
Pack by Jeaniene Frost (For Review)
The Church of Dead Girls by Stephen Dobyns (For Review)
The Killing Jar by Jennifer Bosworth (For Review)
I was really excited to see Menagerie on sale this week and can’t wait to listen to it. I have already listened to Pack and enjoyed it quite a bit. I plan to listen to the other two books sometime in April.
Digital Books
Good Girl by Lauren Layne (NetGalley – for Review)
Claimed by Rebecca Zanetti (Purchased)
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Adieh (Purchased)
Imperfect Chemistry by Mary Frame (Freebie)
Reckless by Maggie Shayne (Freebie)
The Heretic by Joseph Nassise (Freebie)
Dog with a Bone by Hailey Edwards (Freebie)
Charred Heart by Lizzy Ford (Freebie)
The Ruby Brooch by Katherine Lowry Logan (Freebie)
I only picked up one new ARC to read. I couldn’t pass up Lauren Layne’s new book. I have had the first book in the Rebecca Zanetti series for a while so I grabbed the second one when it was offered as the deal of the day. When I saw The Wrath and the Dawn for sale, I went ahead and picked it up as well since I have seen some great reviews for that one.
Print Books
Magic in the Blood by Devon Monk (Paperback Swap)
Magic in the Shadows by Devon Monk (Paperback Swap)
I now have the first 4 books in this series in my possession so hopefully I will be able to start reading it soon.
I picked up this big pile of books at my local dollar store. I am not going to list them all but I am pretty happy with my purchase. 15 brand new books for $15 plus tax – you almost can’t beat that!
I felt like I hit the jackpot when I got these books. I went to the new Goodwill Outlet in my area to take a look around. Once I starting seeing ARCs for recent books in the bins, I rolled my sleeves up and took a better look. The books are priced by the inch at this store. So you just pile your books up like in the photo at the check out and they measure your pile with a ruler. The books cost 15ยข per inch so all of these books cost less than $6!!
What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!
I totally go hog wild when I find used books on sale and books at dollar stores so no judgment here. You caught some good sales online, too.
Nicely done, Carole!
I am always looking for a good deal. My daughter and I had a lot of fun finding all of these deals.
Wow! What an awesome haul this week! I haven't picked up any print books in forever! Looks like I need to get back in the game lol. Happy reading!!
Danielle @ Life With Two Boys
I really enjoy reading on my kindle the best but I don't mind print books. I couldn't pass up these books at such a low price.
So sad I missed the sale on Menagerie!! Can't wait to see what you think of the audio. I hope you enjoy The Wrath and the Dawn. Lots of great books – enjoy them all!!
I was shocked to see it as the Audible Daily Deal. I bought it right away. Thanks, Grace!
Ooh a nice big pile of books this week! I do love a week where I have no control and just don't care! That should keep you busy for a while! I wish I had access to Goodwill, much better than our charity shops…
When we were finding these deals, my daughter looked at me and said she was having fun so that makes it even better. I love Goodwill but this was my first experience at the outlet where the prices are even lower.
I saw The Wrath and the Dawn on sale but didn't jump right into it just because I'm still undecided about it. I like looking at your huge stack of books! It's always been my wish to get a stack like that. Great haul! I hope you enjoy them all!

I love coming home with stacks of books! My daughter loves reading as much as I do so it is money well spent.
Iโve read a lot of Stephen King books, and The Long Walk is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy all of your new books.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I was surprised to see The Long Walk in the Outlet bin but I was happy to get it. Thanks, AJ!
I love the 'inch' method! I also visited my local thrift store this week. I used to find the greatest books but lately it's just been some good chapter books for my daughter's little library. I love getting great books for cheap! Happy Reading!
Stacy Renee @ Lazy Day Literature
I could believe how inexpensive the Goodwill outlet was! The inch method was awesome. I know we will be going back to look. The people watching there was a lot of fun as well.
It's okay to have no control when buying books that are on sale. I know I would go crazy too if I had the chance to walk into a dollar store and buy books that interest me. Awesome haul!
I was really happy to find all of the ARCs that I found. A lot of books that I had thought about requesting. Now, I can read them at my own pace.
Looks like you got your hands on some AWESOME stuff this week!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed you enjoy The Wrath and the Dawn; I know I've been seeing a LOT of mixed reviews on it lately, but I adore that book–it was one of my top favorites of 2015. Here's hoping it treats you well!
Great haul this week! Here's hoping you enjoy your new acquisitions! Happy book-ing to you!
Here's my StS
I am really looking forward to The Wrath and the Dawn. I was on the fence about it but once it went on sale, I just couldn't resist.
That's so cool paying for books by the inch. Plus it's for a good cause. Menagerie was one of my favorite books last year. I hope you love it and I can't wait for the sequel. Hope you love all your books and shopping with your daughter sounds fun.
I really enjoyed shopping with my daughter. She was having as much fun looking through the bins for treasures as I was. I love grabbing deals especially when the money goes to a good cause.
Awesome book haul! There's no such thing as too many print books ๐ Especially when they were only $1 each, and 15c per inch (what a great system!). I just downloaded a couple of the freebie ebooks you listed too – they sound great!

I just can't resist a sale. I love books but wish they didn't take up so much space in my house. I do prefer ebooks but I can donate these once I get a chance to read them.
Awesome haul!! I've been really curious about The Killing Jar, especially the audio. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on that one. I hope you enjoy your new reads! ๐
I hope to get to it soon. I am crossing my fingers that I will enjoy it. I love the sound of it and the cover is beautiful. Thanks, Lisa!
WOW, you got a LOT of books this week! I'm especially interested in Reckless by Maggie Shayne. Can't wait for your review! ๐
I went completely overboard. I am going to try to behave myself for at least a little while now ๐
So many books! I don't even know where to start. I loved The Killing Jar and The Wrath and the Dawn. I'm not even going to look at the rest of pictures, LOL. ๐ I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic weekend. ๐
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed The Killing Jar. I am thinking that will be my next audiobook and I am really hoping that I will enjoy it.
Super haul! Very nice! Hope you enjoy all of these, they are always more enjoyable when you get a good deal.
Bambi's StS
I really can't resist a good deal. I have also learned that I like collecting books as much as I do reading them. No matter how hard I try to control myself, I still want to buy new books.
what a great group of books you added to your shelves. I love finding books for so cheap and you found some great ones here. Yay for Rebecca Zanetti…I love her books. Hope you enjoy Good Girl, I am very curious about that one.
When it comes to Lauren Layne, I don't even think about it before I start clicking. I just love her writing. I am crossing my fingers that Good Girl will be a good one.
You need to read The Wrath and the Dawn. I'm not sure if it's your type of book or not, but I LOVED it. It's gorgeous. ๐
I really read a bit of everything and I am hopeful that I will like it. Hopefully, I will be able to get to it soon.
You can't have too many books! And you did well, using deals and buying used. ๐ Enjoy!
I agree. There is no such thing as too many books. When you see a good deal, grab it before it is gone.
How do you get audiobooks for reviews? Just curious. ๐ And we have similar pricing through our library. Only all the books you can fit in a bag for $5. So if you bring an entire suitcase and fill it up with books, it's still going to cost you $5. Lol. Enjoy your books!
I received one recently directly from the author but I usually get audiobooks for review from Audiobook Jukebox. $5 for a suitcase of books! Now that is crazy pricing. ๐
Haha – great point about books not expiring or going bad. You definitely hit jackpot!
I just think that I should buy them when I can get them for cheap and worry about reading them later.
Ooooh, Menagerie by Rachel Vincent is one that I really want to read! Can't wait to hear what you think. You had some awesome finds this week! Enjoy them! Thanks for visiting my Sunday Post earlier!
Doesn't that one look good, Lisa! As soon as I finish my review audiobooks, I think I will start that one.
What a fantastic haul, Carole! Menagerie was really good, I hope you'll enjoy it, too. Maggie Shayne always hits me right, too ๐
I hope you're having a fantastic week.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
I have several Maggie Shayne books but I am not sure if I have read her work before or not. Hopefully, I can get to her book soon.
