Stacking the Shelves #31

Posted July 30, 2016 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 22 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Another week in the books!  I have been incredibly sluggish lately.  I seem to be behind on just about everything in my life right now.  I am pretty sure that my thyroid levels are completely out of whack which is not helping.  The summer heat is probably adding to the mix as well.

Digital Books

Reckless Creed by Alex Kava (First to Read)
Kids of Appetite by David Arnold (First to Read)
Fates and Traitors by Jennifer Chiaverini (First to Read)
Little Nothing by Marisa Silver (First to Read)
The Trouble with Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis (Edelweiss)

Woo hoo!  I scored an Alex Kava book AND a Jill Shalvis book in the same week.  I really couldn’t resist the books on offer over at First to Read this time around and went a little overboard.  I can’t wait to get to each of them.  I loved the first book in Jill Shalvis’s Heartbreaker Bay series so I had to accept the offer of the next book when it was offered to me by the publisher.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. My thyroid is always wavering between underactive and normal which is really annoying for me and the doctor! I can understand your frustration with something like that. Stupid thyroid. I also don't operate well in warmer weather and I'll be glad to see the colder nights-but not the winter storms! Hope this week is better for you. Enjoy your books!

    • I have had so many thyroid problems. It has been high which they treat by making it underactive for the rest of your life. Anytime my med levels get off, I have a rough few months. Thanks, Chuckles!

  2. Great haul this week! I haven't heard of any of these books, I guess I'll have to look them up and see what's what. Also, here's hoping your (possible thyroid) problems get sorted out–I have hypothyroidism with my type 1 diabetes, so I tooootally understand how you're feeling. It's amazing how much those levels can screw up how you feel on a day-to-day basis!

Have a great rest of your weekend–and happy book-ing to you, in the near future! Here's my Stacking the Shelves this week, if you're interested in checking it out–but no pressure or worries if you'd rather not!

  3. I loved that Shalvis and Alex Kava is an author I've really been wanting to try. Kids of Appetite has caught my attention lately. It sounds like a good read. Hope you're feeling better soon!

  4. Oooh, Fates & Traitors!

I've been sluggish about some things, too, Carole! For me it's the heat. Gets to me every year.

    Have a good week!

  5. Looks like some good books. I always forget to mention what I get from First to Read. I'll have to remember them next week. Hope you get to feeling better. I was on thyroid meds for 2 years until I went to another doctor and he said I didn't need them. I've been fine without them but my husband still takes them. Heat sucks!!!

  6. Ooo, the cover of Little Nothing is pretty! I got a book from First to Read — The Reader by Traci Chee, last week. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Carole!

    Have a fantastic weekend. =)

  7. Your haul looks great. I hope you'll get over whatever it is that ails you sooner rather than later, Carole. It sucks not knowing what's got you feeling down in the dumps.

  8. Yeah, the heat can definitely contribute to feeling sluggish. Yay for getting books you're excited for. Have a great week!
