August 2017
August could be summed up in one word for me….BUSY! I am not really someone who enjoys having too many things scheduled so it was a bit of a challenge for me. My daughter turned 17 and started her junior year of high school before we even hit the middle of the month. Things should settle down into a more normal routine soon.
My reading was down a bit this month which was really no surprise. I was able to keep up with the blog during the month and ended up with 27 posts for the month.
I am linking this post to the Monthly Wrap-Up at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

How was your month? Do you have any reading or blogging goals for September?
27 blog posts is great! I'm curious about that Bittner book. I just downloaded one of her from Amazon – it was free. 😀 I loved So I Married a Sorcerer! The next book needs to be here, like, yesterday. 😉
I hope your September is awesome! Have a great day, Carole. =)

I just read the Bittner book that is currently free, Outlaw Hearts, in August and I really enjoyed it. I am so ready for more of the Sparks series as well.
You read/listened to some great books. I loved The Hunt and Chasing Christmas Eve..enjoy!!
I didn't get to as many as I usually do but I liked everything I read so that it is a big plus.
Wow, you are one of the most productive bloggers I know, Carole. Glad to hear that despite having a busy month you still had a great month reading-wise. I hope you have another awesome month in September. Happy reading! 🙂
You are too kind, Geybie. I didn't read as much as I normally do but I still got things done. Thanks!
27 posts is still a good number for a month! 17 years old, wow time sure flies
17 years old and my baby! My oldest is 22! It doesn't seem real. Thanks, Ailyn!
Looks like you had a great month. And read some great books here. I am so glad that you finally picked up Rosanne Bittner and hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
I had planned to read the whole series but I was so busy that something had to be cut. I hope to finish by the end of the year though.
Wow, for being so busy, you sure got a lot of reading and blogging done. Have a great September!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
It is strange. Sometimes when you are busy you spend more time focusing on what needs to get done. That what my daughter's teachers are always telling me and maybe they are on to something.
You've read and listened to some really great book. I would like to get my hands on Chasing Christmas Eve, it sounds so good.
I am really looking forward to that one, Jenea!
wow Carole, 13 books in a busy month is impressive I'm jealous :D. Looks like some really good book as well, so I can see how you might have been on a roll. Hope Sept is a good month for you
I did have quite a few audiobooks that I usually listen to at work. Otherwise, I would have had much lower numbers.
August was busy for us too! Great reading month despite the business. Looks like some great books too. Hope you have a great September!
Summer always seems to get crazy at times. I am so ready for calm!
I was looking at my reviews and was all why do they say Sep? OMG I am still in August mode
September snuck up on us!
That's a great number of books read for August.
Thanks!
Congrats on 28 posts! That's great! It does sound like you had a busy August, though; hopefully September will bring some relaxation. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Chasing Christmas Eve. It looks fantastic!
I just started Chasing Christmas Eve and so far so good!
What a great month and I bet your daughter sure is keeping you busy. I finally finished The Spell Book of the Lost and Found and When I Am Through With You. I liked them both and need to get my reviews up. Hope you have a wonderful September.
She does drive herself to a lot of things anymore but just trying to keep up with her is wearing me out! I will look forward to your reviews, Barb!
Way to crush your Goodreads goal! I hope to read the Shalvis books next week (Love her!) and I really liked Lucas (I hope you like it too!).
I did set my Goodreads goal very low on purpose this year. Last year I barely made it because I listened to some really long audios instead of short ones. I went with the no stress approach this year 🙂
I think you did pretty fantastic with your reading and blogging considering how busy you are, Carole. 🙂
Love seeing your stats.
Have a great September!
Thanks so much, Sophia Rose! You are too kind 🙂
I see you had a great month, in spite of being busy. 13 books in a month is good.
I can do more but sometimes life comes first.
I thought I already commented. Oops, guess not! Your reading may have been down, but 13 in a month is still great! You and I are pretty close on our GR goals, I think I'm at like 117. Hope your next month calms down a bit!
Sounds like you are doing great with the GR goals as well. I hope September is calmer but I am not sure it will be.
My reading was down too in August. I seemed to have a few mini- slumps here & there. I read Sleeping Giants a while back, I need to get to Waking Gods one of these days.
Anytime I have a day that I don't feel like reading it will show in my stats. It happens. I really did enjoy Waking Gods and hope to do an audio re-read within the next year.
Nice! many books there! I hope septemeber will be a good month too
I hope so too!
Love Halfway to the Grave and Frost Burned! Have two Patricia Briggs to catch up with so I need to get that done before the end of the year!
I think that one of the reasons that I love audiobooks so much is that I just listen to whatever I feel like with no review obligations for the most part. I do love Frost and Briggs!
I love how you recap and track your goals…I really need to try and do that (something I say every month lol!) Looks like some good reads are lined up next! Here's to a productive September!
It is kind of fun to put some numbers up every month. I am usually a bit surprised once I start counting things up.
You re-read books! I'm so jealous. LOL. I wish I had the schedule to re-read. Look forward to reading your thoughts on Chasing Christmas Eve, I really enjoyed that one. ~Aleen
I am doing more and more re-reading lately. I don't get audiobooks for review very often so I just listen to whatever I feel like and a lot of times that is a book I know that I will enjoy.
Wow! August was definitely a crazy month! I like seeing what you've read each month. It always reminds me of at least a couple of books I want to read but have forgotten about. The Lauren Layne is on the top of the list. Have a great September!
I had a lot of fun with the Lauren Layne book! It is so hard to keep up with everything on the tbr.
It does sound like a busy month for you! Of course, most of your months sound busy from my perspective. 🙂 I am glad you were able to get some good reading in. I am looking forward to The Hunt too, although I need to read the first few books in the series still. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful September!
I feel like we are so busy around here but I just keep reminding myself that my daughter will graduate soon and it will all be over. I am just trying to enjoy it as much as I can.
Wow! 13 books in one month! That's quite a feat! I hope you have a great reading month in September!

Thanks, Ronyell!
27 posts is pretty darn impressive! Hope September is just as great!

Thanks, Nicole!
I agree–27 posts is amazing. I hope your September is going well too. I sent two kids off to college in August and have just one left at home–so weird and quiet now and grocery shopping needs are way less and so is the meal prep.
I have one daughter that has her own apartment and just the one teenager at home. It is amazing how different everyday things are when your family size changes.
I've wondered about "The Address." And I've looked up "Project Pandora." I guess it has brainwashed teen assassins. Isn't that the way it always is?
There does seem to be a lot of teen assassin book lately.
I don't think I've visited your wrap-up yet! Been such a busy month. Sorry about that 🙂
Your favorites are great! One of them is also my favorite (the Girl), and the other one is on my TBR (the giants!) Very exciting reading 🙂
I do understand busy! I had a lot of great reads/listens in August so I was really hard to pick a favorite to be honest.
