June, July, and August 2020 Wrap Ups

June, July, and August 2020

I think that I might actually be back!  Woo Hoo!  I haven’t posted much over the summer months with the exception of my weekly Books from the Backlog posts where I did try to keep everyone posted with the events of my life.  It looks like things are really about to calm down.

If you didn’t know, we decided to buy a house at the beginning of June without any real planning.  A house we have always liked hit the market and we decided to jump on it.  We spent much of the month of June trying to purge some of our items and started the processes of sprucing up the home that we would need to sell.  We actually closed on our new home on July 13th and spent a lot of time painting and having carpet installed so we could get moved in.  Once we had everything moved, the real work started.  We had hardwood floors refinished, vinyl flooring installed, and carpet in our basement areas.  The interior of the entire house was painted and new baseboards were put down.  Our former house hit the market the last weekend of August and we are now under contract.

I miss reading and blogging.  I miss being able to focus for more than 5 minutes at a time on anything other than all of this house business.  I want to stop obsessively cleaning everything and I really want to retire from home improvement.  Oh, I want to stop writing checks to everyone!

Thanks for hanging in there with me!  I did enjoy reading everyone’s comments even though I was usually too exhausted to reply or blog hop.

  1. Glad to see you back. I've seen some of your progress on Facebook and you're new house looks lovely. Moving is such work. Hope you can relax now.

  2. moving can be a wonderful adventure and at least you did it right by having your new house like you want it before moving in. all your hard work on your old house must have paid off to get an offer so quickly and i have my fingers crossed that you can wash your hands of all that soon. hang tight

  3. Yes! You are nearly through it. I'm glad you can have a break now and do something else. At least you read some great books when you did read this summer.

    Have a great September, Carole!

  5. I am glad things are finally settling down for you. You've been going nonstop with the houses! Hopefully you can rest now. At least a little. 🙂

Ooo! Dragons Unleashed! What did you think of that one? I have it on my TBR pile. I like the first book. I have my eye on Emerald Blaze. I really need to dive into that series.

I hope you have a great weekend, Carole! Take care and happy reading!
