Stacking the Shelves #229

Posted October 11, 2020 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 17 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
I guess this was a pretty normal week.  Work was work.  Unfortunately, work tends to take up most of my waking hours during the week.  I haven’t been able to listen to as many audiobooks at work as I used to do but I am making some progress with my ability to focus.
The buyers had all of their inspections and appraisals at the house we are selling this week.  I did spend one evening giving the floors a fresh mop before everything started.  Hopefully, it will be the last time I have to mop the floors in that house!
I did get back into the blogging groove a bit.  My blogging schedule this week did look a lot more like it did before I started this home-buying adventure.   I didn’t spend as much time blog-hopping as I would like but it was a step in the right direction.
What I’m Reading
I was only able to finish one book this week.  I had a great time with Send Me Their Souls by Sara Wolf and thought that it was a great ending for the trilogy.

I am about two-thirds of the way through The Tory by T.J. London and can’t wait to see how everything works out.  I just started reading All About Us by Tom Ellen and the first 100 pages have flown by so I have pretty high hopes for it.

Books Added

You Love Me by Caroline Kepnes (NetGalley)

Book of the Month
Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam
A Rogue of One’s Own by Evie Dunmore
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. *clapping* So glad to hear you are enjoying All About Us. One of my favorite things was his visits to the past. Present and future were tougher reads, but I remembered it's a romance, and that was enough balm for my fears. Yeah for the house sale! That must be such a weight off your shoulders.

  2. Yay! Glad to hear things are progressing with the house buying! That's gotta be a relief this time around! And yay for getting your blogging groove back!

OMG! HOW did I miss the news of the new YOU book?! I was beginning to think it was one of those dreadful teases that say a third book is coming but never really does! I've been burned before clearly! I can't wait to read that one! Hopefully before season 3 starts? I'm off to look it up!

    Happy Reading!

    Here's my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. Hey, that's great that you have a new buyer lined up and are getting back into the blogging rhythm. I loved The Tory.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  4. Great news about your house sale! Enjoy being able to just settle into you new residence. Your books look good, and I'm curious about Leave the World Behind.

  5. That's good new about the house, hopefully that's the last time you have to mop it. And that's good your ability to focus is getting a bit better, but too bad about less time to listen to audiobooks. I hope you have a great week!

  6. Fingers crossed that the house is well and truly sold! Having to be responsible for two houses is never fun. I'm so phasey with audio books. Sometimes I can just fly through them and other times it feels like I never get any listening time. Have a great week.

  7. You're here – happy dance! The narrator on The Tory is Steve West. My favorite! I hope you have a smoother week ahead!

  8. Hoping the sale happens soon!! Happy for you, Carole!
When they announced that the You book series will continue, I was kind of disappointed because I honestly didn't enjoy Hidden Bodies. Yet here I am actually curious of it and might actually read this new book.
