May 2021
I started the month with a few days of work and a nice family gathering and ending the month with a quiet holiday weekend. I can’t complain. My daughter is home from college for the summer so that has been a bit of an adjustment but we do love having her home.
We opened our pool early in the month but it’s been too cold for me to actually get in it yet. I have tried but I usually wimp out after sticking my feet in. I have spent a lot of time outside pulling weeds and working on the landscaping. It seems that the work never ends but I am trying to keep up as much as I can.
I got my second vaccination early in the month and am happy to be fully vaccinated. It seems that most people in my area are going back to life as it was before the pandemic. I kind of like staying home as much as possible so I don’t see myself going out any more than I did before getting my shots.

That’s some interesting books there.
I hope you’ll be able to use the pool soon! It’s warm here too so I want to try to go to the beach if it’s possible this weekend
I see you had a good month. I also have Legacy for this month.
Yeah, it was a pretty quiet, even-paced month for me, too. We haven’t had hot temps yet so my in-law’s pool is no-doubt frigid. I don’t blame you for needing it to heat up more. Nice stack of books finished and hitting a few different sources and challenges.
Have a great June, Carole!
I like not having to go out so much too. Pandemic has always been my lifestyle. I am so jealous you have the new Forman book. Can’t wait to hear what you think!
I’m so looking forward to Gayle Forman’s latest! It’s been so long. π
You had an incredible month! I hope you’ll fare well in June as well.
Happy reading!
Even hear in sunny Southern California I’d have to heat up my pool to get in right now. I do that on occasion, but I mostly heat up our jacuzzi so that I can get in and out to cool off while reading in a lounge chair in the sun. It’s faster and a not as much money, lol! Hope you get to use your pool soon.
I don’t have any well-formed goals for June I just want to get on top of my review pile!
Great reading! Enjoy June.
Looks like you’ve had some great reading this last month. And I’m happy to read you go fully vaccinated π
The pool is ready to go in our garden, and I keep saying I will go in, but I still haven’t. Hopefully soon π
So glad to hear you got fully vaccinated! It’s probably going to be September for me to get my 1st shot…
Like you, very little changed for me after I was fully vaccinated. So few people are vaccinated that I still feel better keeping my distance. I didn’t get to One Last Stop before it released (oops) but I still plan on picking it up soon.
It sounds like solid progress and you read a nice selection of diverse formats and genres. Don’t worry- it will be too hot too soon.
Ohh pool time π But yes Id be a wimp too
love the post and i see a couple i will definitely check out

We had a quiet holiday too. It rained all day, so I mostly just took naps and read books. I hope youβre having a good June!
