June 2021 Wrap Up

June 2021

It is hard to believe that 2021 is already halfway over but that seems to be the case.  I feel like I was really busy during the month but that seems to be the case every month lately.  With work every day, there just isn’t a lot of time left to get everything done.  We had some really hot weather and the pool was finally warm enough for me to get in for about a week which I enjoyed but now it is cold again and my pool looks lonely again.

I finished 11 books during the month but I feel like my reading was very slow.  Of course, more than half of the books that I read were audiobooks that I am able to listen to while at work.  That means that I only read 5 books at home during the entire month.  I love audiobooks but I really want to find the time to read more print and digital books.  My Instagram account has continued to grow steadily and I am currently at 1,647 followers.  On the blog, I am having trouble keeping up with comments.  My daily schedule is so tight that I just run out of time if anything unplanned pops up and my weekends can be just as packed.

I am linking this post to the Monthly Wrap-Up at Feed Your Fiction Addiction.

  1. You had a great month! I read and enjoyed The Blackbird Season a few years ago…and in June I read and loved The Newcomer.

    Have a great July!

thanks for sharing your month Carole I haven’t read any of your June titles by I loved both Nora Roberts’ Legacy and Darynda Jones A Good Day for Chardonnay which I reviewed for Mystery Scene magazine.
Here’s hoping you get to read all you want. It seems strange even with more time spent at home I feel like my reading has fallen off since the pandemic. I feel more distracted somehow and I’m hoping to get back in the game.

  3. Sounds like a nice steady month for work and home with some good books. Fun that you got in the pool several times. I like a few of those on your line up of books coming next. Have a great July, Carole!

  4. Love you new graphic! So cute! Congratulations on your IG growth. Keeping up with comments is a problem I will never have LOL! Hope you are able to get more print/ebook reading done next month.

  5. This was a heavy audio month for me too! I finally had to admit that I can’t respond to all the comments and had to give up. I do try and and comment back and respond to any questions that way. But something has to give sometimes and for me unfortunately it was responding to comments. Legacy is on my TBR. I always enjoy her books and this one looks really good!

  6. I am glad your pool got some use–hopefully it will be warm enough soon and you can jump back in. The workdays do tend to meld into each other, don’t they? I wish I could listen to audio books while I work, but I do too much reading and have constant interruptions. I tried listening to an hour long podcast the other day and I think I only actually heard half of it. I guess that’s something. LOL I haven’t read any of the books you read in June, but several are ones I plan to read at some point. I’ve heard such great things about The Blackbird Season and Falling sounds so intense. I hope you have a great July in books, Carole!

  7. You had a good reading month, despite falling below your usual numbers. I had thr same issue. Didn’t get in audiobooks for June
I am also trying to catch up with comments. Work days are hectic, which tires
me out do sometimes I am too tired to get much reading done. Love your wrap up graphic.

  8. Nice reading month! I’m a bit hit or miss these days when it comes to keeping up with blogging things, but I’m doing what I can. I want to get more posts written and scheduled ahead this month and next if I can. That would be nice to have done before September and the Fall months.

  9. 2021 has been moving so quickly, I hope summer doesn’t fly by. Congrats on your ever growing IG account, I’ve been struggling with comments on the blog too. There aren’t enough hours in the day.
