My Life

I felt like this week was busy. We had two vehicles that we had to get inspections done on so that we could renew the plates. I couldn’t find one of the pieces of paper that I needed to get the plates so I spent most of one evening digging through filing cabinets until I finally found what I needed. I also had to deal with trying to actually get the glasses that I ordered (and paid for) 5 weeks ago. I guess I was successful because they suddenly had them ready for me to pick up Friday after work. I haven’t had my new glasses for very long but they are already so much more comfortable than my previous pair so I am happy. I have also spent a lot of time setting up my new phone. I dropped my old phone a couple of months ago and cracked the screen but we realized on vacation that the phone really wasn’t working properly during our vacation. It seems like it takes forever getting a new phone set up! The last task taking up my time was looking into possible repairs to my house after the big hailstorm we had a few weeks ago. Roofing companies have been canvassing my neighborhood and it looks like a lot of homes are getting new roofs. I know my awning was damaged so I decided to get a roofer that I know to take a look at our roof to see if I should file a claim.

I feel like I have been a terrible blogger friend lately. I have been getting reviews written but I just haven’t had the energy to sit with a computer at the end of the day to blog hop. I guess I have been in a bit of a funk since I haven’t wanted to really do much of anything except curl up with a book lately. It should pass soon. I haven’t forgotten about any of you and I appreciate the love that you have given my blog more than you could ever know. Hopefully, I can get around to seeing everyone today.

What I’m Reading

I finished three books this week. I thought that The Weight of This World by David Joy was a fabulous book. The Haunted Heist by Angie Fox was a whole lot of fun. I loved all of the familiar characters in Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas.

I have had the first three books in the Downside Ghosts series in my Audible account for years. I decided that it was finally time to revisit the series so I started listening to Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane and am really enjoying it. I am about 15% into The Book of Accidents by Chuck Wendig and it is getting off to a great start.

Books Added

The Last House on the Street by Diane Chamberlain (NetGalley); I’m with the Banned by Marlene Perez (NetGalley); Beasts of Prey by Ayana Gray (Bookish First)

  1. Sounds like you have a lot going on. Glad the new glasses are working out. It is a pain getting a new phone. It was easier to set up my new laptop than my phone. Hope things slow down a bit for you so you can relax.

  2. RO

Hello There! Sometimes life just gets in the way, but I know what you mean about not getting out and about in the blogger world to visit. So many things are going on. I just recently picked up some new glasses too. I use the VA System to get glasses, so they end up mailing them, and I received mine in the mail a few days ago-thankfully. The prescription changed, so I feel like I can see the world so much better now. That has to be a nightmare trying to get your roof fixed, and hopefully you can find some good rates soon. Sending out lots and lots of hugs, RO

  3. I probably need a new phone! Mine is also cracked, but also some features are not quite right. I am sure I have had way too long with this one!

I can relate to searching frantically for items I need…both before and after my move. Now I am determined to arrange things better so I know where everything is. Does that plan work? LOL

Enjoy your week. I have a copy of The Last House on the Street.

  4. Wow. That was a busy week. I hope this week is easier on you. I’ve had a days where I find it’s hard to blog hop. Usually after work. I’m always doing one round before work. Lol.

Nice new reads! Some new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  5. A very productive week for you getting things done at home and on the reading front. I had to replace my phone last week so I get it about how long it takes to set it up and get used to it. Yay for new glasses being a success. No worries if you can’t drop by and visit as often. It should be a relaxing bit and not a duty. 🙂
Nice stack read/listened to. I have fun with the Angie Fox series, too. And, someday, I will get to the Downside Ghosts series.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  6. I think we all get in those funks and don’t feel like spending time making comments on dozens of blogs. I hope you get out of your funk and feel better soon

  7. I have to make a plan to read some in my Audible account. There’s always so many new things I get for review. And at the library which have due dates. That’s partly why I do the Read-along and Thrifty Thursday. There’s also COYER book club to read each month. But I do best when I plan for reading so I am going to plan more things I own. I have always planned to read the Stacia Kane books. I want to read that new Diane Chamberlin too.

I’m glad your new glasses are working out well. I got a new phone in April and it was so easy. All the apps came over like air drop or whatever it’s called. I had almost nothing to do. (iphone to iphone)

  8. Sounds like an awfully busy week. I hope this week is less so. And that you can get the hail damage repaired. Getting a new phone is fun… but only after all the set-up. 🙂

  9. Sounds like you have a lot going on! Glad the glasses are working out though that’s crazy it took so long! With all the busyness and the vacation I don’t blame you for just wanting to curl up with a book! You definitely should get some relaxation time in. Enjoy your reading and have a great week!
