My Life

Can we just forget about this past week? The big office move was this week and it was just as bad as I thought it would be and I worked a lot of extra hours. I spent much of the week alone in the new office trying to deal with customers while the business owner focused on getting things moved. The new space wasn’t really ready for us so I worked around painters and flooring people. We were able to put off the moving company until Thursday when all of the furniture and fixtures were brought over. I somehow got the job of decided where everything would go which was hard because we have more than can really fit in the space. I spent some of Friday moving furniture and filing cabinets around by myself. It is a mess and it is going to be a mess for a long time. I am not a fan of the new commute or whole move in general so far.

My daughter decided to come home from college yesterday morning and will be leaving early today. It was really nice to get the chance to spend some time with her. She needed a pair of shoes and I really did as well so we did a bit of shopping and went to have dinner with my mom as well.

What I’m Reading

I finished three books this week which is actually pretty surprising considering how many other things I did. I finished Graveyard Fields by Steven Tingle last Sunday and really enjoyed it! Witch Please by Ann Aguirre was a fun romance. I was really surprised how much I loved Never Saw You Coming by Erin Hahn and plan to post my review tomorrow.

I am about halfway through The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward and I am loving it! I am not quite sure what is going on but I have a few guesses so I cannot wait to see if I am right.

  1. Sorry to hear it was such a stressful week, Carole. It sounds like the space wasn’t even ready for the move-in. Ugh. At least your daughter coming home was an unexpected bright spot. Hope you have a great week!

  2. Sorry the week was so trying for you, but I am happy it was capped off with a lovely visit with your daughter (and new shoes?). I enjoyed Hahn’s book too, but I liked her other books as well.

  3. Moving is horrible, but if you hope to have a better situation afterwards, it can be manageable. Sounds like your move won’t be better for you. Sorry!

It was good to spend time with your daughter…and your books look tempting. Enjoy your new week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. Ugh, that’s terrible! Not only to move you into a new that’s not necessarily ready for you what with painters in it still. But then to have you deal with all the furniture placement and organizing…that’s terrible. I hope this week will be kinder to you and that the office is somewhat done.

Nice new read! That’s a new to me one but I hope you enjoy it!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  5. Bummer the move couldn’t have surprised you by going smoothly or easily. Sounds like you’re the pillar of the office. Fun that you had a quick visit and got some shopping done with your daughter. Nicely done finishing off three books in spite of the busy-ness.

Hopefully this week will be better, Carole.

  6. I’m sorry that the move went as expected. I really want to read Graveyard Fields after reading your review. It’s at one of my libraries. I hope you had a good weekend with your daughter. Good luck next week, at least you can listen to audio while commuting?

  7. oh nice. That must be so fun to have your daughter come home even if she needs some shopping with her mama. 🙂 I have heard some wonderful things about Witch Please though.

  8. Oh boy, the office movie sounds like a lot of stress and work. Sorry to hear that!! I’m glad you were able to visit with your daughter for a few days though. That’s fun.

The Last House on Needless Streets is on my wish list!
