September 2021 Wrap Up

September 2021

Somehow another month is gone and we are already in October.  It was another busy month at my house.  At the beginning of September, the doors and windows that we ordered back in April were finally installed.  It was quite the upgrade and we have been enjoying our new doors.  We also signed contracts to get a new roof and new siding for our house.  We did tackle a couple of projects ourselves, including painting the living room and reworking the drop ceiling on one side of the basement.

I guess the big news for September has been my office’s move.  I am starting to get used to my new commute but I don’t like it.  My new office doesn’t have a window and I am surprised by how much I miss being able to see outside during the day.  I am adjusting but I am not a fan.

I read 13 titles in September.  Several of them were very short so that number is a bit deceptive.  I have found that I have to read a little bit every day or I am not a pleasant human.  I have been spending my hour before work reading and I listen to audiobooks while working.  I posted photos on Instagram 16 times during the month.  I do enjoy taking bookish photos and have learned a lot.  My followers now number 1,881.

  1. You got a lot done on home improvements and I’ll bet it looks great. Glad the move is over and now you’re settling in. It is hard to adjust to no window- had that happen to me for my last few years in my office and I put up some pretty nature photography to compensate. 🙂 Nice eclectic batch of books read this month. Ooh, you’ve got a scary looking one in this month’s plans. 🙂 Great job building your Instagram account. Have a good October, Carole!

  2. I know how how you feel about the lack of windows. Its the same way my office is set up, which is quite frustrating.

  3. I feel you on the window. In my old position, I was in a secure room and faced a wall. I can see the window from my new desk, but it’s not like working from my glider in front of my bedroom window. RIP work from home! Go you on IG! I think that platform is a lot of work, so it’s great to hear you are enjoying it. Interested to see what you think of the Tracey Garvis Graves book. I had to pass as I had too many review books, but I am still interested.

  4. The high school I went to was built in this weird experimental architectural educational model and none of the classrooms had windows. It took so long to get used to and then it got so used to having windows again. I can definitely understand not liking it though! Have a wonderful October!

  5. What a great but BUSY month you have had there. I have enjoyed seeing you show all the home improvements you guys have been making. I hope October is a month of fun and enjoy the autumn feels. Great job on your feedback ratio for Netgalley, the higher the chance you get approved, especially for those more popular publishing houses or books.
