I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This was a quiet week and I like quiet weeks. I went to work every day and tried to read as much as possible when I wasn’t working. We walked the dogs every day including one morning before the sun came up. On Saturday, I went to a local bookstore that I had not been to in years. They had books all over the place and I found a few that I just had to have. I did do a little better with blog hopping this week and I hope to continue to do so.

What I’m Reading

I only finished 4 books this week. I finished Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzales last Sunday and posted my review last week. I listened to Bursting with Love by Melissa Foster which was an entertaining romance. I then changed gears and listened to Turn Coat by Jim Butcher and loved it even more than I did the first time I read it. I spent most of the week reading Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr and I absolutely loved it.

I am actually between books at the time that I put this post together. I think that I might start Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé this week. I am thinking that my next audiobook will be The Donut Trap by Julie Tieu.

  1. I like quiet weeks too. I don’t need a ton of stuff popping up in my week. I have the Donut Trap coming up next week. Hope it’s good.

  2. That does sound like a smooth and calm week. Glad you had one after several tumultuous ones. Fun that you got to a bookstore you hadn’t visited for a while and found some good ones. Nicely done getting to four books this week and picking up with your visiting. Looking forward to your thoughts on those books.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  3. Glad you had a nice slow week and got some interesting books read!

  4. Oh nice! Which store did you go to? Main Street Books in St. Charles is my go to place! Lynn Cahoon was there yesterday. I haven’t read her books but thought this new series sounded cute and thought why not?! Lol.

Nice new read! That’s a new to me one but I hope you enjoy it!

    • I went to The Book House in Maplewood. The last time I was there they were still in an old house but now they are in downtown Maplewood. I have a weakness for used bookstores. Main Street Books is my go-to for new books 🙂
