I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
This was a pretty uneventful week. The sleepover with my niece and nephew was a success and they went home just before lunch last Sunday. The rest of the week was pretty routine. I went to work, walked the dogs, tried to figure out what to make for dinner, and read every chance I had. It’s a glamorous life, isn’t it?
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished 4 books this week. Unmasked by Paul Holes was a captivating blend of memoir and true crime. Watchers of the Dead by Simon Beaufort was a quick listen but probably ultimately forgettable. Into the Dim by Janet B. Taylor was an interesting time-travel tale but I doubt I will read more of the series since it looks like the third book will never be released. Do Not Forsake Me by Rosanne Bittner was an incredibly well-done western romance and I am eager to continue with the series very soon.

I started reading Peace Talks on Jim Butcher on Friday. I am so excited to read this one since it is a past due NetGalley read and the last Edelweiss book that I owe a review on. Once I get this one reviewed, I will be completely caught up on Edelweiss. Woo Hoo! Plus the book is excellent so far. It is a win-win situation! I just started reading When a Princess Proposes by Kerrelyn Sparks and I am excited to be back in a world that I love with a new generation of characters.

Books Added

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
The kids are adorable. Glad the sleepover went well. Yeah, life is glamorous for us all. I am still so bitter about Into the Dim. So many questions after book two. This is why I no longer commit to series.
Yeah, they are pretty cute 🙂 Into the Dim ended nicely so I am just going to stop here. I hate it when a series is abandoned.
Glad the sleepover finally went well! That’s good! I was a huge fan of Into the Dim, so I was DEVASTATED that the publishers canceled yet another beloved series of mine! I read the first one as an ARC, so my memory is fuzzy on things ended there…but yeah, book 2 had a wicked cliffhanger, so save yourself the torment! That one is on my list where I cry over losing that final book!
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones for the most part! I of course know Sabaa’s! I’m just not a contemporary reader, so I passed on that one. Hope you enjoy them both!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
It really is a shame that the series was canceled by the publisher, especially with a cliffhanger. It is always great when an author self-publishes in these situations.
I really wish authors would do that more! I know they have their reasons as to why they decided not to go that route but I’m always left in tears over it. I find it’s always been series I got reallllly excited over too and the cliffhanger killed!! Ack! Lol. It kind of looks like Janet might have stopped writing altogether because I have not seen anything from her in years. 🙁
I did notice that her website was gone. It is a shame if she isn’t writing anymore.
I am curious about All My Rage. Enjoy your week and your books…and have a great one!
Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
I am hopeful that All My Rage will be a good one!
Great fav insta of the week 🙂
They had fun posing for pictures 🙂
I think it’s the best kind of week being normal, no big problems. You can just do your ordinary chores and walks, spend some family time and read! I’m energized by the better weather.

I would agree! I love uneventful weeks.
An easy quiet week can be nice at times. Looks like you got through a good stack of reads and listens this week. Woohoo for arriving at your last Edelweiss review book! Glad the slumber party went like a charm. My week was quiet with a trip to the theater for The Lost City on Saturday. It was an entertaining lightweight and reminded me of an 80’s movie.
Have a good week, Carole!
Yes, it feels so good to be completely caught up on Edelweiss! I will not let myself get in a mess as I had before.
I’m trying to read in between taking care of my grandson and taking the dog outside.
I think that I spend half of my free time letting my dogs in or out of the house. 🙂
yes, it sounds like a good week. 🙂 into the dim has me curious

It was a rather good listen, Sherry!
I’m glad the sleepover went well. How fun! I’ve been trying to read as much as possible these days too. LOL April will probably be a busier month with some fun events coming up though!

I try to be the fun Aunt! I am always trying to find more time to read. It is hard to get everything done.
You got some good books read. Sorry about the forgettable one..
I have Sabaa Tahir’s on my TBR as well.
I am really looking forward to All My Rage!
Sounds like you had a good week. Very curious about your new books and delighted you are continuing with Butcher. One of my favorite series.
I just love Harry! I am almost caught up with the series now. I will miss my monthly Dresden book once I get caught up.
Diary of a Whimpy Kid is a huge succes in my classroom as well. Kids just GOBBLE UP those books!
I think that my nephew is pretty taken with these books right now!
Oh the kids are adorable and they look like they’re having fun! Glad the sleepover went well! My life is just about as glamorous – especially about the dinner. I wish a meal plan would get magically delivered. I don’t even mind cooking most of the time it’s the planning that kills me. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
I do think that they had a good time. I hate trying to plan what I need to defrost and figure out what to put together for meals. It is a bit easier now that it is just me and my husband at home.
Yes, trying to decide what to make for dinner is a challenge! It’s been an uneventful week for me too, just packing still. Must get back to the Jim Butcher series. Love Marsters’ narration.
It is a challenge that never ends. My family is absolutely no help either. Marsters is the best!
