Weekly Wrap Up #422

I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This week felt very busy. We leave for Hawaii tomorrow! We ran to the store Monday night to pick up a few things we still needed for our trip. I won a contest held by a local news station for a pair of tickets to see Twisters on Tuesday night before the release date. I didn’t realize it was the official press screening of the movie for the St. Louis area. The movie was very entertaining with some pretty intense moments along with a bit of humor. It won’t win any awards but I do recommend it, especially if you liked Twister.

I worked really hard to get caught up at work before my vacation started. I didn’t get quite as much done as I had hoped but I feel okay leaving things for the next two weeks. I practically skipped to my car as I left the office on Friday. I can’t remember the last time I had 2 weeks away from work.

On Saturday, we ran to the store to pick up some dog food for the pups. We then stopped by the new library branch that I will be working at when we get back from our trip. It is a brand new branch and pretty impressive. They have a recording studio, 3D printers, an awesome children’s area, and a lot of places to study or read. My daughter will be staying at our house to take care of the dogs while we are gone. She arrived Saturday evening and we are enjoying a bit of time with her while we can.

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I finished 6 books this week! I couldn’t get enough of the Graphic Audio dramatized audiobooks for one of my favorite series. I do love Cat & Bones! I quickly worked my way through At Grave’s End, Destined for an Early Grave, One for the Money, This Side of the Grave, One Grave at a Time, and Up From the Grave. I have read all of these books before, except maybe One for the Money, a novella I may have missed. There isn’t a Graphic Audio version of Up From the Grave so I listened to the regular audiobook instead. I do hope that they complete the series in Graphic Audio. I noticed these are all available in Hoopla if you want to try them. I highly recommend this series!

I hope to tackle This Ordinary Stardust by Alan Townsend during the hours I will be spending on a plane in the next week.

Till Death Do Us Part by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn (Publisher)

  1. Oh wow! Hawaii is already coming up! I remember you said it was pretty soon when we last chatted! That’s exciting! That’s one state I’ve never been too and not entirely sure I’ll ever make it either. I’m not a beach person, but would still love to explore the area! Hope you have a blast!

Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

  2. What a neat experience getting to go to the press screening for Twisters. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I hope you have a safe and incredible trip. I think the last time I had two weeks off was when I was unemployed. LOL! Can’t wait to hear all about your travels when you get back.

  3. Weeee, off to Hawaii now! Sounds like you did what you could to get ready. Neat you won the early showing for Twisters, too.

    Enjoy, Carole!

  4. Glad your daughter can stay with the pups. That makes it nice. Hope you have a wonderful vacation. I used to adore Cat and Bones but never finished the series. Maybe I should plan a reread.

  5. I’ve been following your trip on instagram and it looks like you’re having an amazing time! That awesome about the library – both for the community to use and for you to work there. Can’t wait to hear how it goes.
