My Life
You guys – I got the job! I will start working full-time at the library early in December after working my two-week notice at my current job. I had begun to think that I would not get the job so the news was very welcome this week. I was a little nervous about handing in my resignation at my current job but it went well. I didn’t do a great job of quitting though, since I agreed to work part-time from home, at least for a while.
I was back in the office for my old job this week, after working from home for the past week and a half. I am not a fan of the commute but I only have to do it for another 2 weeks so I won’t stress over it. It was great heading to the library on Friday and getting such a positive reaction from my co-workers about my move to full-time. Everyone seems happy to have me on the team (or they are very good at faking it).
Friday was my birthday. I didn’t do anything. I have had a bit of a cold all week so I was happy just to go home after work and eat some leftovers before heading to bed. We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house today for my husband’s side of the family so we have also spend a fair amount of time doing a bit of extra cleaning around the house.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished 4 audiobooks this week. Christmas with the Queen by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb was a wonderful listen. I have had Crimson Shore by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child on my NetGalley list for 9 years. I have always hesitated to read it since it is the 15th book in the series but I decided to give it a try and ended up enjoying it. The Hidden by Kiersten Modglin was a shorter listen that kept me glued to my headphones. I wasn’t quite as taken with The Stranger at the Wedding by A.E. Gauntlett but still thought it was a worthwhile read.
I didn’t make much progress with The Last One by Rachel Howzell Hall, but I am still enjoying it. I have listened to around 40% of You Better Watch Out by James S. Murray and Darren Wearmouth and can’t wait to see how things will work out.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Congratulations! You are quite an inspiration. Taking that chance, and it paid off. What a great birthday gift, too. It was nice of you to agree to part-time. I hope they don’t take advantage and are able to fill the role quickly. So jealous of your haul – Jimenez and Sage! Hope all your new reads are amazing.
Congrats again! That is so exciting! Happy Birthday (again!), hope you had a nice day despite having a cold! Hope you’re feeling better now!
