It’s Christmastime again in Heartbreaker Bay!
When Sean O’Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother’s bachelor weekend, he’s just hoping to make it through the weekend. What he’s not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago—a woman he’s never really forgotten.
The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she’s just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be the wild and free one, and Sean – the good time guy – is the perfect candidate.
But as the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he’s ready to find happily-ever-after, and he wants it with Lotti. But will she open her heart to him again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, he can only hope love and magic are in the air.
Sean and Lotti are the focus of this story. Sean is taking his role as best man for his brother’s wedding very seriously. He wants to make sure everything goes perfectly for the weekend the group has planned at a Bed and Breakfast. He is in for a surprise when he finds his high school girlfriend running the establishment.
I love second chance romances and I thought that this one worked really well. When Sean and Lotti were together last, they were teenagers going through a lot of things and they made some mistakes. They had a lot of chemistry and I really wanted to see them make it work this time. They really were very good together and just seemed to fit. I was really surprised by how detailed their background was despite the length of this story. I was cheering for this pair to get their happily ever after.
It was really nice to see all of the characters that I have come to love in the series play a role in this book. We get to see the first wedding in the group and I enjoyed seeing the whole group work together to give their friends a perfect day. I have really liked Sean from his first appearance in the first book and I liked Lotti just as much.
I would recommend this story to fans of contemporary romance. It was a really nice romance that should appeal to many. I can’t wait to read more of this fantastic series!
I received an advance reader edition of this book from Avon Books via Edelweiss.

Sean and Lotti sound like a couple that I would enjoy reading about. I have a copy of this, but I'm not sure if I have to had read the other books first. 🙁 I'm glad you enjoyed this! Great review.
This can easily be read as a stand alone, Jenea. Feel free to jump into this series at any point 🙂
I'm so excited about this one though I think I'm going to read the first book before starting this one. I think I need to get to know Sean as a side character so I can really enjoy this one.
All of the books are great and there is really no wrong place to start.
I have to agree with you about how complete this story feels. Most of the time, novellas leave me wanting, but this gave me a full and very satisfying story. I was so excited to get Sean's story, because I always thought there was more to him, than we knew. This is quickly replacing Lucky Harbor as my favorite Shalvis series.
I still need to read the Lucky Harbor series but I am loving this one. Sean was a great character.
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Love Jill Shalvis. 🙂 ~Aleen

I am loving this series but I do like the fact that any of the books can be read as a stand alone. I think you will enjoy this one, Renee!
Cute! I do love the idea of a holiday themed second chance romance. Neat how it got so detailed in just a short amount of pages.
It was really well done, Sophia!
