Stacking the Shelves #99

Posted December 23, 2017 by Carole in Stacking the Shelves / 46 Comments

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

Merry Christmas!  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.  I can’t believe we are already celebrating Christmas!  I finished up my Christmas celebrations with my side of the family on Friday and we will see my husband’s family next weekend.  My husband has to work 12 hours shifts all weekend and on Christmas day so we try to work our holiday celebrations around his availability.  My schedule is completely open this weekend so I hope to do a little reading and get caught up with some of my blog visits that were neglected during the past several days.

Books for Review

Mind of a Killer by Simon Beaufort (NetGalley)
More to Love by Alison Bliss (NetGalley)
The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel (Blogging for Books)
Mind of a Killer really sounds like my kind of book so I am really happy to get an early copy.  I also added More to Love to my tbr.  Forever (Grand Central Publishing) was also kind enough to auto-approve me on NetGalley which makes 4 auto-approvals so I finally have that badge I feel like I have been trying to get forever.  The Roanoke Girls is a book that I think I will either love or hate.  I hope I end up loving it.
Books Purchased

Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant (Kindle Purchase)

I couldn’t pass Into the Drowning Deep up when I saw it offered on Amazon for $2.99.

Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs (Audible Purchase)
Fair Game by Patricia Briggs (Audible Purchase)
Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs (Audible Purchase)
Say Goodbye for Now by Catherine Ryan Hyde (Audible Purchase)

I decided to use up some of my Audible credits on the three Patricia Briggs books.  I should get a $10 coupon next week that I can use to buy the book that I skipped over in the series.  I have heard some great things about Say Goodbye for Now so when I saw that I could add the audio for only $1.99 I grabbed a copy.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. OOh nice deals! That's a bummer to have to work on Christmas, but it's nice that everyone is so accommodating! Hope your first round of Christmas was good and that the next one is just as good!

Nice new reads! Some new to me ones but I do know of Briggs'! Sadly fell out of that series, both of them really, but I hope you will love it!

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. Hope you have a lovely holiday and get some time in around your husband's schedule. I really liked Roanoke Girls but is definitely a love it or hate it kind of book. Enjoy your new reads/listens and have a great week!

  3. I'm just enjoying the sport and getting some reading done. A few more blog posts to construct and I'm all set for another year! Hope you have a good Christmas!

  4. Sounds like you have a lovely plan for all of you to have Christmas together and for you to get some time.

Looks like a good haul. I'll be curious about The Roanoke Girls. I adore Patricia Briggs so I know you'll have a good time with those.

    Merry Christmas, Carole!

  5. That's a great deal on Into the Drowning Deep! And the Briggs' books look great too. Happy reading, and merry Christmas!!

  6. We started the Christmas celebrations this evening and it will continue into next week. I don't care what we do. I am just happy to have my child back with me for a little while. I hope you and yours have a lovely holiday, and that you enjoy your "catch up" time.

We've always had to work around work scheduled too but you just celebrate when you can and as long as you have that time together, that's all that matters. Merry Christmas. ?{Hugs}?

Enjoy those new books too. ?

  8. Sorry I'm visiting late. That's a great deal on the Mira Grant book. I loved the first one and look forward to this one as well. I ADORED Say Goodbye for Now. It was a great book and she is one of my favorite indie authors.

  9. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas! I feel the same about The Roanoke Girls, but I'm hoping I end up liking it. The cover makes it look so delightfully creepy. More to Love also looks good. Congrats on getting your forth auto-approval! 🙂

  10. I've been seeing the cover to into the drowning deep everywhere and I know how many people love Mira Grants books. I hope you enjoy it! It's a shame your husband has to work so much during the holidays but for some professions it can't be helped… Hope you had fun celebrating with both sides of the family x
