This week’s neglected book

Plain Fear: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis

Series: Plain Fear #1
Release Date: August 1, 2011
Publisher: Sourcebooks Landmark

“Hannah cannot move on.”

She pines for Jacob, the boy who saved her life when she drowned, bringing her back from the brink of death by breathing life into her.

“But Jacob is gone now, buried.”

Levi’s love for Hannah burns just as strong. But he knows how much Hannah loved his brother Jacob. He also knows the troubling event that took Jacob out of their lives. And he lives with that lie every day.

So when a stranger named Akiva comes to their community, he carries with him two secrets that will change their lives forever: he is in fact Jacob, whom Hannah had lost. And he is now a vampire.

When passions stir and secrets are revealed, Hannah must choose between light and dark, between the one she has always loved and the new possibility of love. But it’s more than a choice of passion; it’s a decision that will determine the fate of her soul.

Why did I add Plain Fear: Forsaken to my bookshelf?
So I added this one to my Kindle back in December 2011.  I was so confident that I would like it that I added the second book in the trilogy, Plain Fear: Forbidden, to my account in January 2013.  I will be honest and tell you that I kind of forgot that I had these books.  I am not at all surprised that I bought them though because it is an Amish vampire story!   Of course I need to read an Amish vampire story!!!

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  1. An Amish vampire story sounds quite different! I can see why you added this to your TBR. I'd be curious to know what you think of this one when you do read it. Maybe I will want to too!

  2. I hope you enjoy then. I tend to steer away from anything religious even peripherally for my escape reading. So I wouldn't have picked them. Anne – Books of My Heart
