I did have a follow up doctor’s appointment this week and it turns out that I am needing to have surgery to repair a hernia. Surgery has been schedule for this Thursday so I am working to get a lot done around the house before then. I really have no idea how long I will be down from this surgery but I do know that the doctor says that I will need to be off of work for two weeks and I will probably be sore for a couple of months. If I seem slow to return comments or disappear for the next few weeks, I may not be feeling well so please be patient with me.
Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven (NetGalley)
Born to Be Wilde by Eloisa James (Edelweiss)
The Girl in the Glass Box by James Grippando (Edelweiss)
I am super excited by these 3 books. I knew I had to read Phoenix Unbound as soon as I read the description. I have been having a great time these Eloisa James historical romances. I requested The Girl in the Glass Box as soon as I saw it on Edelweiss. I have been a big fan of James Grippando for quite a few years so I am thrilled to have an early copy of his upcoming title.
Crave Me by Cecy Robson (Caffeinated Services)
Currency of Souls by Kealan Patrick Burke (Audiobook Boom)
I am about 25% into Crave Me and I am absolutely loving it! The story is fun and the narrator is amazing. I hope to be able to review this one by the end of next week. I couldn’t resist requesting Currency of Souls when I saw it on offer on Audiobook Boom. I have heard great things about Kealan Patrick Burke’s work and it will be a nice change of pace.
Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
Slimy Underbelly by Kevin J. Anderson
Unnatural Acts by Kevin J. Anderson
Hair Raising by Kevin J. Anderson
I picked up these four audiobooks at Audiobook Stand for $4 each shipping included. Unfortunately, they will be closing at the end of the month but they do have a great sale going on now. Audiobook Stand
J.D. Robb’s In Death Collection
Books 1-5
Books 6-10
Books 11-15
Books 21-25
I did not buy all of these next week. This has been a process. I actually ordered 5 collections that would have been books 1-25 from Audiobook Stand a few months ago for a total of $20. I later received an email that they were out of stock of all but books 11-15 and 21-15 so I cancelled the order because that would not do me a lot of good. They sent the books to me anyway and told me to keep them. So I picked up books 1-5 and 6-10 on Amazon. I do need to fill in books 16-20 but I think I should be good for a while so that can wait.
Ohhhhh a new Draven!!!
I am excited about that one!
Don't worry about the blogging Carole, you just make sure you rest and look after yourself. Hopefully a book or two might help take your mind off things as you rest. We'll still be here when you're ready to come back or need someone to talk to. Good luck with the surgery and I'll be thinking about you.
Thanks, Chuckles!
Good luck with the surgery. I hope all goes well and you heal quickly.
That's what I am hoping for 🙂
Oh man good luck with surgery and recovery. Enjoy all those new books and have a great week!
Thanks, Grace!
Good luck with your surgery! Hope you have a smooth recovery…one that will allow you to vege out and get some reading done! 😉
Hope you enjoy all your new reads too! Mostly new to me ones!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I do have a pile of books to keep me company while I am off work.
I hope the surgery goes well and that you heal quickly!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks AJ!
My dad healed pretty quickly from his hernia surgery so maybe you will bounce back pretty quick. Hope all goes well!
Great bunch of books!
Stormi
That is great news, Stormi! I hope this turns out to be an easy surgery.
I do wish you well for that surgery, Carole. Hopefully you won't be down for long.
Oh, very nice haul on the closing sales. I got the Grace Draven, too.
Writing this from sunny Utah. I'll be a bit off grid, too. 🙂
Thanks, Sophia Rose! Have a great time in Utah 🙂
Sorry to hear about the hernia. I hope you heal fast and it's not a very painful recovery.
Thanks Mary!
I hope everything goes well and you feel better quickly.
I also want to get Phoenix Unbound but haven't been approved yet. I like the looks of the rest of your book haul also. Anne – Books of My Heart
Thanks Anne! I hope you get an approval email for Phoenix Unbound soon!
Good luck with your surgery! Hope all goes well and you feel great soon!
the Girl in the Glass Box looks good! And yay for good deals on audio and JD Robb. Looks like a great collection.
Thanks Greg!
Whoop! Phoenix Unbound is a book I want to read! I hope you enjoy it, and I cannot wait to see your thoughts. <3
Boo work waiting for you at work… 😉
L @ Do You Dog-ear?
I am really excited to read Phoenix Unbound. It looks like it is going to be a great book!
I hope your surgery goes well and you feel better soon. Enjoy all your new books.
Thank you!
I hope all goes well with the surgery!
That is an amazing group of books you got.
Thanks Jenea!
I want to start the In Death series, too, but man is it intimidating! LOL
I also have Phoenix Unbound on my review pile. I can't wait to read it. 🙂
Thanks for sharing.
I think that I might try to do what Sophia Rose has been doing and listen to one book every month or so although I probably won't get started for a while.
I'm going to have to look into Audiobook Boom. I haven't heard of that before.
They send out an email with books on offer every Tuesday. I have been able to pick a couple of great listens this way.
I hope the surgery goes well and all is better after. I have not started the death collection yet. But one day hope to. Great week of books this week. Have a wonderful week and feel better.
Mary my #SundayRoundup #27!
I am going to pace myself with the series but I have heard so many great things I do want to give it a try.
Oh no on the surgery. Hoping it goes way better than expected and you're feeling fine quickly 🙂
That is what I am hoping for! I hope I feel good enough to at least get some reading done 🙂
I hope your surgery goes well. I hope you're back on your feet quickly. I know that I've been a bit MIA for a while. I was out of the country for vacation and I just haven't gotten back into the swing of things. I did a lot of reading and now I have 9 reviews to write and build.
Melanie @ Hot Listens & Books of My Heart
I hope you had a great time on vacation. I always seem to have a backlog of reviews to write 🙂
Phoenix Unbound has SUCH a great cover and it looks so good. Happy reading!
I can't wait to start reading Phoenix Unbound!
Good luck on the surgery! My dad has had a couple hernia surgeries, so they aren't fun, but you'll be fine! Just get lots of rest – and hopefully you can get some reading in. 🙂

I am sure I will be fine. I just may not be around too much for a bit.
Oh, no! That stinks about the surgery. It *will* go great and you'll have a speedy recovery. 😉
I am with you in regards to the speedy recovery 🙂
Best wishes for your surgery tomorrow 🙂
My dad had his hernia done a few years ago. Uncomfortable for a while after the op, but a big improvement for him in the long run
Surgery is on Thursday so a couple of more days. I think it should be fine. I will just need to slow down for a bit.
Those are some great looking books. I ADORE that Kevin J. Anderson series and have read all of them. The covers are cool as well!
I listened to the first one and loved it so the rest of the series has been on my wish list for a while just waiting for a sale. I am excited I finally was able to grab them.
Oh no on the surgery! How frustrating. Hopefully it isn't too bad and the recovery is reasonably quick.
I have my fingers crossed that I can get around quickly after surgery.
I haven't visited in so long! I'm sorry. I have been incredibly busy! Catching up today 🙂 hope you've been well?
Oh no, I guess I have the answer to that question… I guess your surgery is tomorrow! That was quick – we have waiting lists that are like a half a year long. But that means I still get to wish you good luck 🙂 I hope it goes well and especially that you heal fast and easily.
It is interesting how different healthcare is around the world. Things did move very fast for me.
