Stacking the Shelves #127

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
I was back at work this week but my daughter was off to West Virginia so it wasn’t quite back to normal around my house.  It was really hard to go back to work but I had a nice pile of work waiting for me to keep me busy.

I did have a follow up doctor’s appointment this week and it turns out that I am needing to have surgery to repair a hernia.  Surgery has been schedule for this Thursday so I am working to get a lot done around the house before then.  I really have no idea how long I will be down from this surgery but I do know that the doctor says that I will need to be off of work for two weeks and I will probably be sore for a couple of months.  If I seem slow to return comments or disappear for the next few weeks, I may not be feeling well so please be patient with me.

Books Added

Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven (NetGalley)
Born to Be Wilde by Eloisa James (Edelweiss)
The Girl in the Glass Box by James Grippando (Edelweiss)

I am super excited by these 3 books.  I knew I had to read Phoenix Unbound as soon as I read the description.  I have been having a great time these Eloisa James historical romances.  I requested The Girl in the Glass Box as soon as I saw it on Edelweiss.  I have been a big fan of James Grippando for quite a few years so I am thrilled to have an early copy of his upcoming title.

Crave Me by Cecy Robson (Caffeinated Services)
Currency of Souls by Kealan Patrick Burke (Audiobook Boom)

I am about 25% into Crave Me and I am absolutely loving it!  The story is fun and the narrator is amazing.  I hope to be able to review this one by the end of next week.  I couldn’t resist requesting Currency of Souls when I saw it on offer on Audiobook Boom.  I have heard great things about Kealan Patrick Burke’s work and it will be a nice change of pace.

Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
Slimy Underbelly by Kevin J. Anderson
Unnatural Acts by Kevin J. Anderson
Hair Raising by Kevin J. Anderson

I picked up these four audiobooks at Audiobook Stand for $4 each shipping included.  Unfortunately, they will be closing at the end of the month but they do have a great sale going on now.  Audiobook Stand

J.D. Robb’s In Death Collection
Books 1-5
Books 6-10
Books 11-15
Books 21-25

I did not buy all of these next week.  This has been a process.  I actually ordered 5 collections that would have been books 1-25 from Audiobook Stand a few months ago for a total of $20.  I later received an email that they were out of stock of all but books 11-15 and 21-15 so I cancelled the order because that would not do me a lot of good.  They sent the books to me anyway and told me to keep them. So I picked up books 1-5 and 6-10 on Amazon.  I do need to fill in books 16-20 but I think I should be good for a while so that can wait.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. Don't worry about the blogging Carole, you just make sure you rest and look after yourself. Hopefully a book or two might help take your mind off things as you rest. We'll still be here when you're ready to come back or need someone to talk to. Good luck with the surgery and I'll be thinking about you.

  2. Good luck with your surgery! Hope you have a smooth recovery…one that will allow you to vege out and get some reading done! 😉

Hope you enjoy all your new reads too! Mostly new to me ones!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. My dad healed pretty quickly from his hernia surgery so maybe you will bounce back pretty quick. Hope all goes well!

    Great bunch of books!

  4. I do wish you well for that surgery, Carole. Hopefully you won't be down for long.

Oh, very nice haul on the closing sales. I got the Grace Draven, too.

Writing this from sunny Utah. I'll be a bit off grid, too. 🙂

  5. I hope everything goes well and you feel better quickly.

I also want to get Phoenix Unbound but haven't been approved yet. I like the looks of the rest of your book haul also. Anne – Books of My Heart

I hope all goes well with the surgery!

That is an amazing group of books you got.

  9. I want to start the In Death series, too, but man is it intimidating! LOL

I also have Phoenix Unbound on my review pile. I can't wait to read it. 🙂

    Thanks for sharing.

  10. I hope your surgery goes well. I hope you're back on your feet quickly. I know that I've been a bit MIA for a while. I was out of the country for vacation and I just haven't gotten back into the swing of things. I did a lot of reading and now I have 9 reviews to write and build.

  11. Best wishes for your surgery tomorrow 🙂
My dad had his hernia done a few years ago. Uncomfortable for a while after the op, but a big improvement for him in the long run

  12. Those are some great looking books. I ADORE that Kevin J. Anderson series and have read all of them. The covers are cool as well!

  13. I haven't visited in so long! I'm sorry. I have been incredibly busy! Catching up today 🙂 hope you've been well?
Oh no, I guess I have the answer to that question… I guess your surgery is tomorrow! That was quick – we have waiting lists that are like a half a year long. But that means I still get to wish you good luck 🙂 I hope it goes well and especially that you heal fast and easily.
