Stacking the Shelves #135

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
This was a quiet week for me.  I love quiet weeks.  You would think that a four day work week would feel shorter but it didn’t seem to work that way this time around.  I did get through season 4 of Game of Thrones over Labor Day weekend and hope to move on to season 5 soon.  I helped my daughter secure her homecoming dress and I was happy to mark that chore from my to do list.

We have no big plans for the weekend which is good since they are predicting lots of rain.  I do hope to get some reading done and maybe catch up on a few things around the house.  My husband is off this weekend so we might actually go out to eat.  My husband works every other weekend so we usually only get 4 days a month off together and tend to squeeze lots of things into those weekends.

Books Added

What Have You Done by Matthew Farrell (Kindle First Reads)
Up for Heir by Ruth Cardello (Kindle Unlimited)
Shivaree by J.D. Horn (Kindle Unlimited)

I picked What Have You Done as my Kindle First Reads pick for September since it looks like something I would enjoy.  Continuing with my quest to listen to as many audiobooks as I can from Kindle Unlimited during my 3 month membership, I borrowed Up for Heir and had a great time with it.  I then borrowed Shivaree for my next listen since I have had an arc of this book for a very long time and need to mark it from my to read list.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I've been surprised that the rain has been constant! They kept pushing back its start time and then I noticed it only rained hard for a short time yesterday! I know we're hoping for lots of rain to help the sod that we have down in the backyard.

Nice new reads too! All totally new to me ones! I hope you will enjoy each and every one of them too!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  2. Good job finding a dress so quickly. I remember looking for formal dresses forEVER with my daughter (things I don't miss). KU is doing audiobooks now? Cool.

  3. Quiet weeks are good! πŸ™‚ Hope you get to enjoy GoT, never got into that one. I have fell down a binging rabbit hole this week though…lol. Enjoy your new reads!

  4. Yep, I'm with the rest of them and cheer on the occasional quiet week. I had to get ready for our City Wide Garage Sale weekend and sold about half my stuff. I'm not doing it tomorrow b/c its our turn for all the rain. πŸ™‚

I picked the same book for my prime freebie. And, I've been trying to sample as much as possible from the Kindle Unlimited trial deal, too.

Yay for checking things off the to-do list. Enjoy the time out to eat with your hubby.

  5. Yay for quiet. I picked the same Prime reading option. I had the last couple days off so I am working both days of the weekend. I just hope I am not working every day this week and next weekend also. I need to look at the KU options on audio. Is there an easy way to search for them? I have the same 3 month KU deal. I don't add library books on my STS post; they just show up when I have actually read them. Anne – Books of My Heart

  6. Hope you have a great weekend and good luck with the GoT watching! I'm binging Wentworth myself so I can relate. Quiet weeks are nice. πŸ™‚

Hope your reads turn out well. πŸ™‚

  7. I had a quiet week, kind of. Turned into a 5 day weekend because we had a hurricane blow through. Didn't do any real damage. Just lots os rain. I can't wait for the final season of GOT. I bought seasons 1-7 and plan to start rewatching it to get ready! I loaded up some cozies and horror for October and starting on them now.

  8. Quiet weeks really can be nice. Yay for your husband being off this weekend. I hope you were able to enjoy some time together. It rained almost all weekend here, which was a bit of a bummer because I had some outdoor plans that were ruined or postponed. But it was still pretty relaxing!

  9. We had rain all day today and more forecasted for tonight. Nothing was really heavy though so I found it a good excuse to stay inside and read. Hope you and your husband got to do some fun stuff together despite the rain. I used to hate shopping for dance dresses – prom was a nightmare! Glad you got that accomplished too. .

  10. Oh a quiet week sounds nice and how great to have some time with your husband. Hopefully you had a fantastic weekend! And are having a great week!
