My Saturday is filled with Homecoming festivities starting with a parade in the morning. In the afternoon, the focus will shift to getting my daughter ready for the dance and then photos with a group of her friends. Last year a group of parents grabbed a bite to eat while the kids went to the dance and I suspect that may happen once again.
It may be Sunday before I get a chance to return comments so please be patient with me.
Cut and Run by Mary Burton (Goodreads Giveaway)
Ransacker by Emmy Laybourne (NetGalley)
Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost (Publisher)
Fireworks by Sarina Bowen (Author/Publicist)
Someone Like Me by M.R. Carey (NetGalley)
I am so excited about the books that I added this week. I won a copy of Cut and Run from a Goodreads giveaway which is great since I just recently read and enjoyed another book by Mary Burton. I loved Berserker by Emmy Laybourne and have been watching NetGalley for the next book in the series so I was thrilled when my wish for Ransacker was approved. I was more than a little excited to find Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost on my front porch this week. I adore Sarina Bowen and can’t wait to read Fireworks, the upcoming book in the True North series. I requested Someone Like Me as soon as I saw that it was available on NetGalley. I loved The Girl With All the Gifts so I am eager to try his newest book.
Winter! Ack, I hope S learns that clothes are a must outside by then.
Prom! π
That will be important for sure!
I like the sound of some of the plots in the Mary Burton books but I'm not sure about the romance element. I might try one of them just to see how I get on with it.
The last one I read was very light with the romance so it might be worth a try.
Oh many intriguing things there! Happy reading!
Thanks, Melliane!
Ahh! Shades of Wicked! I put a request in for that but never heard back! Oh well…we're nearing the release date at least! Hope you enjoy all your lovely new reads!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!

I was able to get a copy of Shades of Wicked for the blog tour that I am signed up to be a part of. It will be out before much longer.
I know. It can't just drop 10 degrees to autumn; it has to drop 20-30 degrees. But I'm still glad for the cooler weather.
Great books which I hope you enjoy. You know I liked Cut and Run; and I just read The Accidentals by Sarina Bowen which I seem to remember your review. Enjoy!
Have a great week ahead! Anne – Books of My Heart
I just wish that I could have went a bit longer before I had to pull out my winter coat!
Iβm not ready for winter, either! Itβs going to snow 5 inches next week, and I donβt want that! Iβm glad you had a better week. I hope your daughter has fun at the dance.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I hope the snow misses you! I am not ready for this stuff!
I am jealous you have the new Bowen. That book was my CWW pick this past week.
I can't wait to get started with Bowen's new book!
I love Jeaniene Frost's books.
I do too!
I think we had like two weeks of fall and now it's winter. π I am freezing! I know it could be worse and some other places already have snow but I am a wimp and so 50's during the day and 40's at night feel like winter to me!! π
Great haul, hope you enjoy all your reads!
Stormi
I agree completely!
I've definitely been feeling like we went straight from summer to winter here in Colorado (except today we're getting early fall-ish temps).
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your new books. – Katie
I am hoping that fall comes back to visit my area soon.
Aww, hope Homecoming goes well! We had it last weekend. π And yes I hate it when it rains through a game like that, you just about freeze.
My daughter had a great time, Greg. It is really hard to sit in the cold rain but I managed!
Yes, it dipped down into the forties the last few days. I enjoyed bundling up, but then again, I wasn't sitting out in a drizzle for a few hours at that temp. The things we do for family. LOL
Our Homecoming was last weekend and they had a great night for the parade and dance though the football game was rainy.
Neat haul. I want to read that Mary Barton and Jeanniene Frost.
Enjoy your new week! π
I did pick up some great books this week!
I hope the weather rewinds so you get some autumn before it divers into the cold. At least, that's the way it supposed to go! You've been so busy lately that I am amazed you get any time to catch up with blogging at all. Enjoy your new books x

I am hopeful that things will warm up at least a bit for a while.
I'm glad it was a better week! I am not ready for winter either. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
Thanks, Grace!
Sounds busy, but it seems like fun times. Have a wonderful weekend and hope it gets slightly better in terms of weather.

Thank you!
I am not ready for winter either π at all! We are still having nice summery weather though.
I haven't actually hauled any books this week, can you believe it π
Have a lovely week!
Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks
Yay for not hauling books! I need a week or two like that!
funny to say winter, It's going to be a hot summer here in Australia. I have never experienced homecoming festivities, hope you enjoyed yours
I do have to remind myself that some parts of the world are on an opposite schedule.
We had homecoming this weekend as well. π I hope you continue to have a better week.
Homecoming is such a busy weekend but a lot of fun for the kids. I don't think that I will miss the crazy next year though.
Ahhhh Shades of Wicked! I am sooo looking forward to Ian's story. Happy reading!
I am really looking forward to getting started with that one.
I am sooo ready for cooler weather, which we are finally supposed to get this week! I think the high for Tuesday is 53 degress, but it's nearly 90 degrees today. Texas jumps around a lot, and never wants to give in to cold weather. I want boots and jackets! I love sitting on the patio with a blanket, fire, and book.

I wish Missouri didn't want to give in to the cooler weather. I would love to have a week or two of sweater weather where I can leave the heavy coat at home.
Football games in drizzle and rain are the worst. I remember attending some and being soaked to the bone. Hope everyone enjoyed Homecoming though – such exciting times for your daughter. Some great books here and I think the MR Carey is one I definitely want to read.
I have such a hard time dealing with the cold. Sitting out in the rain was really hard!
I love Fall and it's weather, but sometimes it really does seem like it goes from super hot to super cold, and I need a nice in between!!

I really want some in between! I think we should see it soon.
LOL ours went from summer to winter pretty much, too. I think we're 38 either tonight or tomorrow night. Um, what?!! lol
It is a little like fall right now. I am not prepared for winter temps!
