Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

Stiff is an oddly compelling, often hilarious exploration of the strange lives of our bodies postmortem. For two thousand years, cadavers—some willingly, some unwittingly—have been involved in science’s boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. In this fascinating account, Mary Roach visits the good deeds of cadavers over the centuries and tells the engrossing story of our bodies when we are no longer with them.
Why did I add Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers to my bookshelf?
I remember being so excited when I found this one at a local thrift store. This kind of book just really appeals to me and I have heard great things about this one. Somehow this one got pushed to the bottom of the pile but I think that I should remedy that situation.
A Quick Update
I am so tired. We are getting really close to having our home officially on the market and open to potential buyers. My husband and I both work 8 hours and then come home and work a couple of additional hours at the new house. We have so much to get done this weekend! The toilets, sinks, and closet doors, are sitting in the garage and need to be put back into place. We need to install a couple of new kitchen appliances and clean the house from top to bottom when we are done. It looks really good though and I almost want to move back in…almost 🙂
I posted a review! I noticed that I have a nice little collection of books that are waiting to be reviewed so I decided to get started with them. I am hoping to have some time to blog hop once our old house is officially on the market and the big work is done. I really am missing everyone!
What are your thoughts? Have you read this book? Would you recommend it to others?
Good luck for everything!
So much work involved! Good luck and hang in there. 🙂
Stiff is on my wishlist!! I'll probably end up playing a special order on my local bookstore for it 🙂
Good luck with all the remaining housework, Carole!
the end is in sight. 🙂

I had Stiff in my shelves for a long time but then it disappeared. I have no idea where it went. lol
Good luck with the remaining housework and yay for book reviewing!
You are truly wearing a cape these days. Working full time, prepping your home, and getting to your reviews too. You're too fabulous
This one has me curious! Good luck with getting the house ready. And I am so behind on writing reviews.
You're almost there! I look forward to seeing more of you!

Ha, I like this sort, too. I've got a different one by her.
Yay for having the end in sight. Just a little bit more and you can enjoy your new home. 🙂
The book does appeal to me, lol, but I can see how it might be interesting.
Good luck with the house!
oh we miss you darling….but keep doing what you are doing, I can't imagine how exhausted you are with all you are dealing with it. We will still be here when life calms down for you.
I'm glad you're making good progress with both houses!
I’ve read one of Mary Roach’s other books and really liked it. She’s funny and asks interesting questions. Good luck with the houses!
I read so many crime and murder mysteries, so I think it would really be neat to gain this different perspective. Good luck with everything with the house! I don't envy those long days, but it will all be worth it in the end!
I haven't read that one.
