Summer camp heats up for a grumpy rockstar and a cynical dance instructor in this funny and heartwarming enemies-to-lovers romance.
Gretchen Miller is a bit of a badass. But even badasses get the blues when it comes to romance, and Gretchen could use a break from dating. So, when she gets the offer to be the summer dance instructor at Camp Wild Arts, she leaps at the chance to embrace clean air, nature, and her inner crone. But every forest has pests—and the biggest one at Wild Arts is none other than Tennyson “Teddy” Knight, the A) arrogant, B) infuriating, C) kinda hot if it weren’t for A & B rockstar who happens to be Gretchen’s fellow artist-in-residence.
Fresh off his band's epic and ultra-public breakup, Teddy's grouchier than a black bear in spring, and Gretchen is happy to ignore the unexpected heat she feels around him. Yet a wary friendship blooms, and before she knows it, Gretchen finds herself sneaking around to have one last summer fling with the broody musician before she swears off men for good. But as they grow closer, Gretchen has to figure out if she's ready to take this summer camp romance out of the woods and into real life.
I had a fantastic time with this book! Gretchen and Teddy are both wonderful characters who are easy to fall for. I first met Gretchen in this author’s previous book, Canadian Boyfriend. I was excited to read her story, and it did not disappoint. This book is a stand-alone, but fans of Canadian Boyfriend will enjoy the opportunity to check in on much-loved characters.
Gretchen has a lot going on and needs a break. She has been asked to teach dance at a summer camp and decides that it is just what she needs. She does not expect to encounter someone quite like Teddy at the same camp. Teddy is a rock star but has just found himself at a crossroads in his career. He is taking the opportunity at camp to not only work with gifted campers but to figure out his next step.
Teddy and Gretchen were great together. I thought that their personalities meshed perfectly and the chemistry that they shared was palpable. They seemed to understand each other in a way that others didn’t. I loved how they were able to connect and was very hopeful that they would be able to figure out a way to make things work long-term.
Kit Swann and Teddy Hamilton did an amazing job with the narration. I am a huge fan of Teddy Hamilton’s narration and he delivered the performance I have come to expect from him. Kit Swann did an equally impressive job and I thought their voices complimented each other nicely. I loved the way they added just the right amount of emotion to their reading. I am certain that their performance added to my overall enjoyment of this book.
I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a delightful romance filled with incredibly likable characters. I couldn’t wait to see this pair find their happily ever after and hope to read more of this author’s work soon.

Well that sounds great. Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much.
I think I would like this series.
Teddy Hamilton is always great. Funny that his character had the same name. I liked this one too. The setting was fun, and I enjoyed seeing them both grow. Their enthusiasm and reawakening of their passion from working with the campers was fantastic.
I loved this one, and the narration was fabulous!
