November 24, 2015

It’s Tuesday!  That means it is time to make a little bit of room on the bookshelves, load up your ereader, or make your way to your local library.  In other words – It is time to get your hands on a new book!

Here are just a few books that have just been released that you may want to grab soon:

The Seventh Bride by T. Kingfisher

Amazon | Barnes & Noble | BAM!

Young Rhea is a
miller’s daughter of low birth, so she is understandably surprised when a
mysterious nobleman, Lord Crevan, shows up on her doorstep and proposes
marriage. Since commoners don’t turn down lords—no matter how sinister
they may seem—Rhea is forced to agree to the engagement.
Lord
Crevan demands that Rhea visit his remote manor before their wedding.
Upon arrival, she discovers that not only was her betrothed married six
times before, but his previous wives are all imprisoned in his enchanted
castle. Determined not to share their same fate, Rhea asserts her
desire for freedom. In answer, Lord Crevan gives Rhea a series of
magical tasks to complete, with the threat “Come back before dawn, or
else I’ll marry you.”

With time running out and each task more
dangerous and bizarre than the last, Rhea must use her resourcefulness,
compassion, and bravery to rally the other wives and defeat the sorcerer
before he binds her to him forever.

Revised edition: This edition of The Seventh Bride includes editorial revisions.

Steal Me by Lauren Layne

Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | BAM!

IN HOT PURSUIT

Being
a cop might be in Anthony Moretti’s blood, but protecting and serving
the city of New York has always been more than just the family business.
If that means his love life stays locked up, well then that’s just
another sacrifice made in the line of duty. That is, until he sets eyes
on the gorgeous new waitress at The Darby Diner and suddenly Anthony’s
morning coffee is leaving him a whole lot more hot and bothered than
usual.

Though waitressing at The Darby isn’t exactly Maggie
Walker’s dream job, it pays the bills and gives her time to work on her
novel. Now if only she could stop fantasizing about gorgeous Anthony
Moretti every time he sits down at her table, she’d really be in great
shape. But when he needs her help identifying a criminal threatening The
Darby—and Maggie recognizes her ex-husband—she fears her fresh start
might be a pipe dream. Faster than a New York minute, Maggie and Anthony
find themselves in one perilous pursuit that only gets hotter with each
and every rule-breaking kiss.

 Controlled Burn by Shannon Stacey

Rick Gullotti lives the
good life. He fights fires, dates beautiful women—though none long
enough so they cast wistful glances at jewelry stores—and has great
friends. And thanks to helping out the elderly couple who own his
building, his rent is low. But when concerns about their health lead him
to contact their only son, his life starts getting away from him.

Jessica
Broussard has no interest in leaving sunny San Diego or her cushy
corner office for Boston, but her father—who happens to be her
boss—dispatches her to deal with the grandparents she’s never met. She’s
unprepared for the frigid winter, loving relatives who aren’t the
monsters she’s been led to believe, and the hot, scruffy firefighter who
lives upstairs.

At first, Jessica is determined to get back to
her comfortable life as quickly as possible. All she has to do is talk
her grandparents into selling their monstrosity of a house and moving to
a retirement community. But she underestimates Rick’s dedication—and
his considerable charm. Nobody’s taking advantage of his friends on his
watch, even if that makes the tempting southern California girl with the
long legs his adversary. Unfortunately for them both, the only thing
more urgent than the matter at hand is their sizzling chemistry, and
it’s quickly becoming too strong to resist.

Take Me All the Way by Toni Blake

You can’t go too far when you’re fighting for love…

Tamra
Day swore off men a long time ago. Her art, her friends, and her garden
have always been enough . . . until now. Suddenly, Tamra is aching for a
connection. Unfortunately, Coral Cove’s most eligible bachelor is the
troublemaker who’s building the mini-golf course she’s designing.
Brusque and sarcastic, he’s made a habit of annoying Tamra. But more
infuriating is the fact that Tamra can’t help noticing how sexy he is.

They
call him a war hero, but Jeremy Sheridan knows better. Still haunted by
painful memories from Afghanistan, he’s just hoping for a fresh start.
So far, the only problem is his new boss, Tamra, a control freak who’s
easy on the eyes—and way too fun to tease.

Despite their
differences, Tamra and Jeremy aren’t as alone as they think they are.
And together, with a little Coral Cove magic, they’ll discover how good
it feels to embrace a bright new future.

    • I really enjoyed The Seventh Bride. I am reading Steal Me right now and liking it a lot. I plan to post that review on Saturday. I hope that you get a chance to read both of these books soon. I would love to know what you think.
