This week’s neglected book

Hold Your Breath by Katie Ruggle

Publication Date: April 5, 2016
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder…

As the captain of Field County’s ice rescue dive team, Callum Cook is driven to perfection. But when he meets new diver Louise “Lou” Sparks, all that hard-won order is obliterated in an instant. Lou is a hurricane. A walking disaster. And with her, he’s never felt more alive… even if keeping her safe may just kill him.

Lou’s new to the Rockies, intent on escaping her controlling ex, and she’s determined to make it on her own terms… no matter how tempting Callum may be. But when a routine training exercise unearths a body, Lou and Callum find themselves thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse with a killer who will stop at nothing to silence Lou — and prove that not even her new Search and Rescue family can keep her safe forever.

Why did I add Hold Your Breath to my bookshelf?
I keep meaning to read this book but never seem to get around to it.  I won a print copy of this book in a giveaway back when it was released and bought all for books in the series for my kindle. I really have no excuses.  Hopefully, I will get to it soon.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  1. I'd love to visit the Rockies some day although hopefully not under such scary circumstances as Callum and Lou. This looks like it will be a thrilling read 🙂

  2. This was a fun series. I enjoyed later books better, but still liked this one especially since it was my first time with ice search and rescue which I found interesting. Hope you like it, Carole.

I'm skipping my post this week. I'm having eye pressure troubles and had to give up some online time to rest my eyes.

  3. Carole love this feature you are hosting. My first time joining in. I got the 0.5 On His Watch in this series for free. I have yet read it or this author. Love the idea for this series. Seen many great reviews. Hope you get to Hold Your Breath one day.

  4. This wasn't my favorite, still good, but kind of short if I remember. I liked this couple better in the next book. I haven't read much farther in this series. I have read 4 other series of hers and enjoyed them. I have the 3rd one in this series I just got from the library I think. Anne – Books of My Heart

  5. I really enjoyed this series! Some installments more than others, but that's usually true for any series, this ends nicely, but there's an ongoing mystery thread through the series that has some surprising reveals! I say go for it! 🙂

  6. I had a really good time with this series. Her books are light and fun with some suspense and lots of romance. I have a great time with her characters, who are always a lot of fun. I hope you give her a chance sometime soon. I just listened to her most recent book, about bounty hunter sisters.
