A new stand-alone hockey romance from USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen.
On the eve of her thirtieth birthday, sports agent Bess Beringer is ready to make some changes. Armed with a five-year plan—indexed and color coded—she’ll tackle her personal life with the same zeal that she brings to her successful agency.
A big, tall, ripped hunk of hockey player who’s just been traded to the Brooklyn Bruisers is not a part of that plan. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz has a lot of baggage. He’s a ride-or-die loner with a bad reputation. He’s on the rebound. He’s also the sexiest thing on two legs, and for some crazy reason it’s Bess that he wants.
She knows better. But then she falls stupid in love with him anyway. And for a while it seems like maybe he’ll do the same.
Until she asks him for the one thing he can never give her…
I just loved this book! I first read Sarina Bowen’s work a little more than two years ago when I picked up Bountiful and I haven’t looked back. I haven’t quite read all of her work yet but I am working on it and I do get excited every time a new book hits the shelves. I still have a soft spot for Dave and Zara, the couple from Bountiful, though so this book was a big winner for me since it features Dave’s sister, Bess. I loved getting to know Bess and Tank and I really enjoyed getting to check in on Dave and Zara. Once I picked up this book, I didn’t want to put it down and ended up reading it cover to cover in less than a day.
About the AuthorSarina Bowen is the RITA® Award winning author of over two dozen contemporary and LGTB romance novels. She most recently hit the USA Today bestseller’s list in February, with Brooklynaire. Formerly a derivatives trader on Wall Street, Sarina holds a BA in economics from Yale University.
Sarina Bowen is a New Englander whose Vermont ancestors cut timber and farmed the north country since the 1760s. Sarina is grateful for the invention of indoor plumbing and wi-fi during the intervening 250 years. On a few wooded acres, she lives with her husband, two boys, and an ungodly amount of ski and hockey gear.
Sarina’s books are published in a dozen languages on four continents. In 2016, The Romance Writers of America honored HIM by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy with a RITA award for Best Contemporary Romance, Mid-Length.
I love this series, but I'm 3 books behind! How can that be? I definitely need to catch up! 🙂
Oh yes I have a book by this author to try
Great review, Carole! Mine doesn't post until Friday, but I really enjoyed this one. I love the way Sarina crosses characters between the Brooklyn series and the True North series. And Bess and Tank were just so easy to pull for. 🙂
This series seems to be a hit all around. Wonderful review! I'll read it someday.

This sounds so cute!
*waves hand* I do like sports romance!
Yeah! What a fabulous review. I think I read my first Bowen book in 2014, The Year We Fell Down, and have enjoyed so many since then. She is an auto-read for me, and your review has me super excited about this book.
I can't help it, books with shirtless guys on the covers always make me laugh.
I've seen this book everywhere, defo adding it to my TBR 🙂

It sounds like the characters really made this book so very enjoyable! And I love when I am so immersed I read the book in a single day.
