This week’s neglected book

Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake
Series: Dark Days #1
Publication Date: July 29, 2008
Publisher: HarperCollins Publishers

For centuries Mira has
been a nightwalker—an unstoppable enforcer for a mysterious organization
that manipulates earth-shaking events from the darkest shadows. But
elemental mastery over fire sets her apart from others of her
night-prowling breed . . . and may be all that prevents her doom.

The
foe she now faces is human: the vampire hunter called Danaus, who has
already destroyed so many undead. For Mira, the time has come to hunt . .
. or be hunted.

Why did I add Nightwalker to my bookshelf?
I bought this ebook shortly after acquiring my first Kindle.  I thought it sounded good then and think the same now.  I bought the book when it was on sale for only $0.99 because I have a very difficult time passing up a good deal.  The reviews look kind of mixed on Goodreads but I have my fingers crossed that I will be one of the readers who end up really enjoying the book.  If I end up liking it, I might have to get my hands on the rest of the series.
A Quick Note
Thank you to everyone out there who is sticking with me.  I can’t believe how busy my life is lately.  It’s not so much the process of sorting through and packing up 20 years of stuff hiding in every nook and cranny in our house (although that is no fun).  It is the work that we are doing to our current home to get it ready to sell.  I have used a shovel more in the past couple of weeks than I have in years.  I have been working to get work scheduled on both homes which is so much more time consuming than I would have imagined.  I really want to be able to list our current home for sale within 2 to 3 weeks of closing on our new house.  Hopefully, life will calm down in a few more weeks.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  1. Oh, I empathize with your moving woes, only yours sound even more stressful, due to the time crunch. I will be back later to add my link.

  2. I've read this one. I loved the MC, the worldbuilding, the plot and the action…everything except the constant bickering between the male and female leads! It spoiled the book for me but I expect you to maybe enjoy this book as you are less picky than me! I can relate to all the work you're having to do and I hope things move quickly for you!

  3. I moved last summer so I get it. Even if I hadn't moved, it isn't like I would give up on you. I hope once you are settled you'll be able to enjoy many mooks.

  4. You're right, it does still sound good. Hope you're in the half that enjoys it.

Man, you are a busy gal. Wishing you well as you worked to close out your old home and get settled in your new one.

  5. Hope you end up being one of the readers that like the series, Carole!

Packing is no fun! So much work and it's amazing how much stuff we accumulate over the years, right? At least you'll be freshly organized once you're all moved. Good luck on getting it all done! 🙂

  6. That sounds really good. Moving is so hard. Packing, unpacking and everything is so tiring. I'm sure you'll be happy once it's all done.

  7. I really liked this book when I read it years ago. I have the second book in the series, but haven't managed to read that though. I hope the move is going well!
