New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Elle Kennedy brings her signature angst, humor, and romance to the fourth installment in a series about four hockey-playing college roommates and the women who knock them off their pedestals and teach them how to love.

She's good at achieving her goals...

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn't include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she's willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated...

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he's fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn't hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina's heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he'll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

This was great! I have been working my way through the Off-Campus series this year and have fallen in love with the series and couldn’t wait to read Tucker’s story after the way the previous book ended. Most of this book takes place during the same period of time as the previous book, The Score, and I thought it was fun to see what was happening in a different roommate’s life during that time. This was a fantastic read from beginning to end and I had a great time watching Tucker and Sabrina find their happily ever after.

Tucker and Sabrina meet at a local bar and have a ton of chemistry from the start. Sabrina typically stays away from hockey players and considers Tucker’s roommate, Dean, to be her nemesis so Tucker has his work cut out for him in trying to convince her to see him again. Sabrina is focused on getting into Harvard and doing whatever it takes to change the course of her life. She currently lives with her grandmother and her sleazy step-father and those living conditions are less than ideal. When she decides to give Tucker a chance, it is just what both of them need.

I loved these two together. Tucker didn’t push Sabrina at all and was incredibly patient. He worked hard to be what she needed. He handled the surprise pregnancy incredibly well and I love seeing him work to support Sabrina in whatever way she would allow. Sabrina’s plans did not include a baby. She was worried about how everything would impact Tucker’s life and tried not to ask him for anything that wasn’t absolutely necessary. I loved watching her slowly learn to trust and depend on Tucker. It was obvious how much they really did care for each other and I loved getting to see both of them finally admit their feelings.

I would definitely recommend this book to others. I really enjoyed this romance and loved the fact that the story dealt with some difficult topics. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series that has quickly become a favorite of mine.

I received a review copy of this book from Bloom Books.

  1. I knew you were really enjoying this series and that is why I’m glad I have the books on my kindle! I hope they will have the same effect on me 😀 One thing is for sure, the fact that a story like this one deals with difficult topics already makes me think I’m going to enjoy it 😉

  2. I am so thrilled for you that you have been able to enjoy this series so much here. I remember the days of reading the Off Campus series when they were released and thrilled its been such a positive experience for you. And aren’t these new covers fabulous??

    • I do love these new covers. I am a little mad at myself for waiting so long to read these books. I have had The Deal on my Kindle for years so I had no excuse.

  3. Tucker was the mystery roommate, and I loved that we got to know him better. It was cool the way this overlapped with Dean’s story too, so we go a different POV on what was happening with him. Now you’re ready for The Legacy.

    • I really liked that we got to see some of those events from someone else’s perspective. I am excited to read The Legacy but sad that it will be over.
