From #1 bestselling author Dean Koontz—the must-read thriller of the year, for readers of dark psychological suspense and modern classics of mystery and adventure.

The girl who said no to death.

Bibi Blair is a fierce, funny, dauntless young woman—whose doctor says she has one year to live.

She replies, “We'll see.”

Her sudden recovery astonishes medical science.

An enigmatic woman convinces Bibi that she escaped death so that she can save someone else. Someone named Ashley Bell.

But save her from what, from whom? And who is Ashley Bell? Where is she?

Bibi's obsession with finding Ashley sends her on the run from threats both mystical and worldly, including a rich and charismatic cult leader with terrifying ambitions.

Here is an eloquent, riveting, brilliantly paced story with an exhilarating heroine and a twisting, ingenious plot filled with staggering surprises. Ashley Bell is a new milestone in literary suspense from the long-acclaimed master.

Why did I add Ashley Bell to my bookshelf?

You guessed it – this is another past-due NetGalley book. It has been more than six years since I downloaded it so I can’t even tell you what I was thinking. I have read a couple of books by Dean Koontz and thought that they were pretty good and hopefully, I will have some luck with this book. This book is pretty long at 576 pages which can be a bit intimidating. I also noted that the reviews on Goodreads seem to be all over the place which can make me hesitate to pick up a book. I am determined to scratch this one off my list before 2023 draws to a close.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it?

    • I decided to go ahead and start it and I am rather liking it. I hope that you get a chance to read it sometime, Laura!

  1. I never read one of his books before. While I like some mystery I guess I need it less hardcore than what he would write. Lol. Hope you’re able to get to this one before the end of the year and end up enjoying it!

    • I think that I have only read maybe two but I am not positive. I am not quite halfway done with it now and am eager to scratch this one from my list.

    • I am almost halfway done with this one and I don’t think that I would call it horror at all. Of course, not much scares me so what do I know.

  2. This looks really good here. I love that you are so driven into working through your backlogged NG books. I think that is so great. I hope you get caught up soon.

    • I am not sure if you have an Audible membership but the audiobook is part of Audible + if you were interested.
