An enemies-to-lovers spicy romance set in the world of video gaming from the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis—available only in audio!
Viola Bowen has the chance of a lifetime: to design a video game based on her all-time favorite book series. The only problem? Her co-lead is Jesse F-ing Andrews, a.k.a. her arch-nemesis. Jesse has made it abundantly clear over the years that he wants nothing to do with her–and Viola has no idea why.
When their bosses insist a wintery retreat is the perfect team-building exercise, Viola can’t think of anything worse. Being freezing cold in a remote mountain lodge knowing Jesse is right next door? No, thank you.
But as the snow piles on, Viola discovers there’s more to Jesse than she knew, and heat builds in more ways than one.
This was great! I am becoming a pretty big fan of Ali Hazelwood’s writing so I was excited to get the opportunity to listen to this book. This is a novella-length story and I was impressed by the depth of these characters. Viola and Jesse were great together and I wanted to see them find a way to succeed.
Viola has the opportunity to help design the video game of her dreams. The only thing stopping her company from getting the contract is Jesse’s competing company. The customer wants both groups to work together and sends them to a retreat to see if they can make it work. Viola and Jesse soon find out they have more in common than they thought and start working towards a common goal. The chemistry between them was palpable and I enjoyed watching them really get to know one another.
Kelsey Navarro Foster did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed the voices that she used for both the male and female characters. She was able to add just the right amount of emotion to this story to really bring these characters to life. I am certain that her performance added to my overall enjoyment of this delightful romance.
I would recommend this book to others. It was a fun romance that pulled me in right away. I grew to care for this group of characters and wanted to see things work out for them both professionally and romantically. I can’t wait to read more of this talented author’s writing.

Get hooked on the first book in Lia Riley's sexy and addictive Hellions Angels series--the perfect beach read!
Her biggest fantasy is about to become a reality...
Jed West is Mr. Hockey. The captain of the NHL's latest winning team, the Denver Hellions--and the hottest player on the ice--at least according to every magazine. .and Breezy Angel. Breezy has been drooling over Jed at games for years, and he plays a starring role in her most toe-curling fantasies. But dirty dreams don't come true, right?
Then Jed saunters through the doors of her library, a last minute special guest for a summer reading event, and not only is he drop dead gorgeous up close, his personality is straight up swoon-worthy. He even comes to the rescue when she has an R-rated "Super Book Worm" costume malfunction. But when he mistakenly assumes she's more into books than pucks, she's too flustered to correct his mistake. And then comes a big kiss, followed by a teensy-tiny problem. Jed's dating policy is simple: Never date a fan.
So what's a fangirl going to have to do to convince her ultimate crush that he's become less of a perfect fantasy, and more like the perfect man... for her?
I really liked this book! I started reading it months ago and it just wasn’t working for me at the time. I decided to give it another try and had a great time with it this time around. If you have been following my reviews for any amount of time, you probably already know that I have a bit of a soft spot for hockey romances. Breezy and Jed were great characters and I couldn’t wait to see them fall for each other.
Breezy works as a children’s librarian and is one of Jed West’s biggest fans. She is shocked to see him fill in at a library appearance, thanks to her journalist sister. Jed saves the day when Breezy has a wardrobe malfunction by loaning his jacket. The pair start to form a connection when he stops by her house to retrieve his jacket and stays for a bit. I loved these two together and thought that they had fantastic chemistry.
I am a fan of Vanessa Edwin’s narration and was excited to see that she narrated this book along with new-to-me narrator, Alexander Cendese. I didn’t love the voices that the male narrator used for the female voices but that is my only complaint. Overall, I thought that the narration was well done. I especially appreciated the female narrator’s range of voices and thought that both narrators added the right amount of emotion to their reading.
I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a fun hockey romance. It was great getting to know both of these characters and I was quickly invested in their blooming romance. I wouldn’t hesitate to read more books in this series.

They both sound good to me, The second seems familliar, I have to take a look
I like Ali Hazelwood and didn’t even hear about this one. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you found 2 good books to read. They do sound good.
Both of these sound great. I’ve loved the Ali Hazelwood romances that I’ve read. 😀
These both look really fun! I’ve read an Ali Hazelwood and enjoyed it but I think this one looks even better. I think I’ll have to go with a reading copy vs an audio book. I’m not a fan of spicy scenes and it is so much easier to skip in book form!
