Three Brothers. One Oath.
No Compromises.
The MEN of LEGENDThe Outlaw
Outlaw Luke Weston survives by his wits. On the run for a murder he didn’t commit, the last thing he needs is to go looking for more trouble. But when Luke stumbles across a fiercely beautiful woman struggling against two heavily armed men, it’s obvious that trouble has found him. After all, he never could resist a damsel in distress.
Josie Morgan’s distressed, all right―and hopping mad. She has no idea why she’s been kidnapped…or who she is…or why her body melts for the mysterious gunslinger who saved her life. But as the lost memories come tumbling back together, Josie is faced with the stark reality of why she and Luke can never be…even as her heart is telling her she will always be his.
I really enjoyed this romance. I just discovered Linda Broday a few months ago when I read Knight on the Texas Plains and knew I wanted read more of her writing so I jumped on the chance to read this book. This is the third book in the Men of Legend series and I was a bit concerned going in since I have not read the earlier books. I had nothing to worry about and can assure readers that this book works well as a stand alone. I am so glad that I decided to read this wonderful little story.
This book opens with a bang. Luke finds a woman tied up and her captors flee. He has very important business to take care of but he just can’t leave her. She is covered in blood and has no memory of who she is and what has happened. Luke is a wanted man and it seems that the woman he rescued may be in the same situation.
Luke and Josie were wonderful characters. Luke may be a wanted man but he was always thinking about how his actions affected others in his life. He really was a very caring man. Josie doesn’t remember anything about her life but it was obvious what kind of person she was right away. She was very strong and I was eager to find out more about her. I thought that Luke and Josie were wonderful together. They seemed to really compliment each other and were always able to be open with each other. The chemistry between them was intense from the very beginning of the book and only got stronger as I continued to read.
There was a lot going on in this book. I had a great time learning more about how Luke became an outlaw and how Josie ended up in the situation she was in at the start of the book. Add in a little drama with a child they run into who happens to know Josie and some problems at the ranch and you have a really exciting story. There was never a boring moment in this book.
I would recommend this book to fans of western historical romances. I had so much fun reading this one and am really excited to go back and read the earlier books in the series. Linda Broday has created a wonderful family of characters in this delightful series.
I received an advance reader edition of this book from Sourcebooks Casablanca via NetGalley.
About the AuthorAt a young age, Linda Broday discovered a love for storytelling, history, and anything pertaining to the Old West. Cowboys fascinate her. There’s something about Stetsons, boots, and tall rugged cowboys that get her fired up. A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Linda has won many awards, including the prestigious National Readers’ Choice Award and the Texas Gold Award. She resides in the Texas Panhandle and is inspired every day.
I've read westerns and romances, but not combined. At least none that I can recall. Need to scratch that off my list. Sounds like this is the author to accomplish that with
I used to read a lot of Linda Lael Miller but got distracted or something. These can be a lot of fun to read.
just saw a review about this one, I'm intrigued!
I enjoyed it!
Luke and Josie sounds like a really good couple. Definitely checking this one out. Awesome review Carole 🙂

They were a lot of fun, Vanessa!
I do wonder where this one went wrong for me, I just do not know
Not every book works for every reader. 🙁
I haven't read this author before but I like this type of books.
I do like Linda Broday's writing.
Hi, Carole……Thank you for hosting me and letting me share this book with readers. I just loved writing about them. They are such large characters and it was fun riding along with them. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your warm words. They mean a lot to me. I always want to know what reviewers think. Hugs from the Texas Panhandle!
I really enjoyed these Legend brothers and will definitely be reading more of them soon. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
after seeing this everywhere, I have decided to pick it up at the store the other day, so now it's on my TBR, glad to know it can be read as a standalone
I hope you like it as much as I did, Lily!
I'm a relatively new fan of her books, too, Carole. I started with Houston's book in this series so I still need to go back and read Sam's story. Luke and Josie were a fun pair.
I grabbed Houston's book when it was on sale a few weeks ago so I have that one ready to go. I can tell that his story is going to be quite interesting from what I learned of him in this book.
That excerpt is hilarious! I've not read a Western romance in a loooooong time. I'll look up this series. I'm glad you enjoyed this book, Carole!
Have a great weekend. =)

Linda Broday does a great job with this book. I also really loved her Knight on the Texas Plains.
