This week’s neglected book
Series: Newsflesh #1
Release Date: May 1, 2010
Release Date: May 1, 2010
Publisher: Orbit
The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beaten the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop.
The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED. Now, twenty years after the Rising, bloggers Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their livesβthe dark conspiracy behind the infected.
The truth will get out, even if it kills them.
Why did I add Feed to my bookshelf?
This one has been sitting on my Kindle since January 2015. I bought this because I love the premise. Plus zombies. I love a good zombie book. This is one that I really should have fit into my reading schedule by now.
What are your thoughts? Have you read this book? Would you recommend it to others?
‘);
I did not like it π
Bummer
Like the cover, but I don't think I'd enjoy Feed. Not really a zombie fan here!
I do enjoy a good zombie story but I wouldn't have said that just a few years ago.
I have seen Kimberly and Melanie really praise this author and the series. I've gotten to where I don't mind some zombies, but I think this might scare the stuffing out of me still. Hope you enjoy it when you pick it up, Carole! π
I am really hoping that this one will be a bit scary π
I think I added this to my TBR a while ago. Hope to hear your thoughts if you get to it!
Thanks, Grace!
I've been horrible about not starting this one too.
I really need to make it happen!
I've heard great things about this one. I don't own it, but I REALLY do want to read it!!

I hope you enjoy it if you get the chance to read it, Lauren!
I remember seeing this book around the Blogosphere years ago. I considered reading it, but that didnβt happen. I hope you get a chance to read it soon!
Aj @ Read All The Things!
It looks like I thought about reading it too since I bought a copy. Now I just need to make that happen π
I have this one on my kindle, maybe I should get reading it. π
It's a problem π
I love love her books as Seanan MCguire and I really want to try the ones as Mira Grant too
I really need to read more of her work.
Clever cover
I do like the cover!
I remember when this came out! It was everywhere for awhile. It's definitely not my kind of book but I'll be curious to see what you think of it.
I think it is my kind of book so I really do need to work it into my schedule!
It sounds interesting to me; I'd never heard of it. I haven't read much in the zombie genre, so I can't comment on that aspect. Sometimes a book just doesn't ever hit you right after initially getting it. I have 3 old ones still on my Netgalley backlist. I read 2 others over the last couple months. I do have like 2000+ freebies, and I have several things I bought to read which I haven't yet. The ones I bought are the ones I should really catch up on after the Netgalley backlog is cleared. Anne – Books of My Heart
I couldn't imagine only having 3 old NetGalley books. My backlog is embarrassing. I have so many books that I really could have enough to last me the rest of my life.
I have this one on my wish list. I have heard such good things about it. Maybe we can both get to it sooner than later. π
Let's hope!
I thought this was a really great book, grueling and heartbreaking but definitely worth a read. Hopefully next week I'll get my act together and take a pic of few books for this feature!
I am happy to hear that you liked this one, Bark. No worries – join in whenever you feel like it π
Oh I have read so many positive things about this book! It's also one that is on my own TBR π
I hope you like it when you get a chance to read it Olivia-Savannah!
I love zombies and politics but I DNFed this one quite early in the plot. It just didn't appeal to be. I'm not a fan of this author really, or the books she wrote under each name!
Sorry that this one didn't work for you, Chuckles!
I loved this series so much. Mira Grant writes such interesting characters. Plus, I love the version of zombies that she has in this world and the fact that civilization is back up and running (since most zombie stories are more Walking Dead style with no government or anything). This one is so unique. Plus, animals can become zombies too, which is pretty funny in some spots.
Melanie @ Hot Listens & Books of My Heart
Wait…the animals become zombies?! I must read this one soon!
