Happy 2019!
I thought it would be nice to take a look back at 2018 as we celebrate the new year.
My Life
A lot of things happened in 2018.  Some good and some not so good.  We said goodbye to the best worst cat ever, Sassy.  I had surgery.  My daughter started her senior year of high school.  We got through my daughter’s last high school marching band season. All in all, it was a good year with a lot of laughs and quite a bit of fun.

Challenges
I only participated in 2 challenges in 2018.

Goodreads Challenge
I read 187 books towards my goal of 100 on Goodreads.

Blogger Shame

The Blogger Shame Challenge is hosted by Anna @ Herding Cats & Burning Soup.

I read 23 books towards this challenge.  I had hoped for 50 so I fell short of my goal but at least I made a dent in my pile.

What were some of your favorite books from 2018?

  1. Glad you had a good year Carole! And 187 books!! I am in awe of those numbers haha!

Stillhouse Lake looks amazing, I've always liked that cover- it just looks so mysterious and suspenseful with all the mist. 🙂 And Colleen Gleason- I've read a couple of her YA books and liked them- I'd like to read more of her work. Ditto with Kelly Meding- I've only read Three Days to Dead by her but I really liked it!

    Happy New Year!

  2. Good picks!

2018 was a hard year, I hope the next one will be great! But then awesome things sure took place too 🙂

  3. Congratulations on your book stats! You did well this year especially being so busy and with your operation. Stillhouse Lake and Stray Magic are certainly on my radar to read soon!

  4. Congrats on your reading stats. I managed to complete 109 books. Stray Magic was an awesome read. I am looking forward to the next book. 2018 was a mixed bag for me, thank God I survived it. Here is hoping for better moments in 2019. Happy New Year, Carole.

  5. Love seeing your milestones, Carole.

You have picked some real gems that I enjoyed, too. Not bad on the blogger shame. That's two per month off the dusty pile. 🙂 And, yay for surpassing your GR goal.

    Have a great new year!

  6. Nice work this year. You are doing great! I've read 5 of the 8 you show as favorites. Here's to a wonderful 2019! Anne – Books of My Heart

  7. Sounds like a good year. Sorry about your best worst cat! I'm glad you got some good books read and I hope we both have an awesome 2019!

  8. Glad you can remember 2018 as being good overall and I agree it's so important to keep up the laughs.
I've got restarting Books From The Backlog posts as one of my goals so am trying to decide which to start with 🙂

  9. YAY!!! It looks like you got some great books read this past year. I just loved Magic Triumphs and I am going to miss Curran and Kate and lil Conlan.

  10. Wow, 187 is such a large number! That's amazing! Nice to know you had a pretty good 2018. Happy New Year, Carole!

  11. Aw! So sorry about your cat Sassy 🙁 Seems like she was aptly named. I hope all went well with the surgery and your daughter has a good last year of high school.
You did so well with your challenges even if you didn't compete one of them. That's a lot of ARCs! I hope you have a great reading year!

  12. I'm happy you loved Winter of the Witch! I wanted to start 2019 off with a good book, so I started reading it, but I felt guilty because I had three other ARCs publishing before it, so I switched to White Stag and I'm hating it. Ugh. Ha ha. ?

  13. 187 books is such an amazing number and congratulations for being able to read so much! Also, I didn't realise you didn't read many print books D: You really love reading on kindle and listening to audio!!

  14. You've had quite a year, Carole. I've enjoyed reading your posts and keeping up with everything you and your family has been up to. Look at all those books you read! You read so many good ones too. I hope you have an amazing 2019!
