Barb @ Booker T’s Farm is once again hosting the They Call It Puppy Love challenge during the month of February. I participated last year and had a lot of fun so I am looking forward to it again this year.
The rules are pretty simple:
- Make a sign-up post and link it to Barb’s post – you can sign up HERE
- Read at least one book with a dog (or cat) on the cover or features a dog (or cat) in it.
- Do a wrap-up post at the end of February with links to your reviews for the challenge.
- At the end of the month, one lucky winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Amazon or Book Depository.
Some of the books that I might read for the challenge
There is no way that I will come close to reading all of these but I think I can fit a few in during the month.
The challenge is open to everyone so be sure to sign up!
Do you have any favorite books that feature a dog or cat or have one on the cover?

I'm still deciding on which books I'm reading for the challenge and how to fit them into my reading plans for next month!
My list is subject to change but I would be happy if I could get to these 🙂
I just finished Watcher in the Woods. I love that series. I love books with pets that are prominent. I hope you enjoy them all.
Melanie @ Hot Listens & Books of My Heart
I can't wait to start that book! The dog plays such an important role in the series that I had to include it in my list.
Fun challenge, Carole! I recently read one with a cat, The Magnolia Inn. I do love when animal characters get a good part in the story.
I think that animals make a lot of books better 🙂
I don't think I've read a book with a dog or cat on the cover in a while.
It's not been all that long for me but I am looking forward to tackling a few more in February!
I keep thinking about participating in this one. I haven't chosen all my challenges yet.
sherry @ fundinmental
This is a fun shorter challenge, Sherry!
I like the idea of this challenge, but I just looked through my planned February reads and think I'll only have one tiger and possibly a magpie :-/
I don't plan too far in advance. I have some arcs to read in February but should have time for some other books as well.
I read The Luster of Lost Things (last year, maybe). It was a very lovely story. Good luck with this challenge!
I have heard good things about it so I hope to be able to work it in. We shall see!
I would love to do this. I do read books with pets in them but I will have to watch this challenge and add to my TBR from everyone else's reading. Anne – Books of My Heart
You should join in, Anne! I am sure that you can find at least one book with a dog or cat in it 🙂
I didn't know the Armstrong series features a dog. I love her and now I KNOW I have to make time for this. I read the The Luster of Lost Things last year too and it was pretty good. Of course, the dog is adorable. So glad you're joining in!
The dog comes into the Armstrong series a couple of books in but plays an important role so I thought it should count 🙂
I'm still trying to find an applicable book by a Black author for Black History Month. The only dog related title I have found is Sounder, but I have already read that one. ?
I loved The Luster of Lost Things! ?✨
I didn't look through my books too hard to find this group to read for the challenge. I must buy a lot of books with dogs on the cover 🙂
I love that this reading challenge is to kind of make you read books with cats or dogs in them! Perfect for pets lovers. 😀 Happy reading for it!
