Stacking the Shelves #155

I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality.

My Life
Today I am off visiting a college with my daughter.  This school is about 3 1/2 hours away from home and she says that it is one of her top choices.  The main task for the day is an interview for a pretty competitive scholarship.  I have been told to be quiet while we are at the college so I will be the lady hiding in the corner behind a book.  At least that’s the plan!

It has been a pretty average week.  My husband and I have both been dragging a bit and I do wonder if we might be coming down with something.  I hope not because I just don’t have time for that!  Work has been slow which makes each day feel just a little bit longer.  Our local weather has been cold, cold, cold.  I am not a fan of being cold but I am dealing with it.

Books Added

Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts (Audible Purchase)
Bluff by Michael Kardos (Audible Purchase)
Girl Last Seen by Nina Laurin (Audible Purchase)

We have two Audible accounts in our household, one in my name and one in my husband’s name.  It was time to cancel the membership for one of our Audible accounts so I used the final credit on Of Blood and Bone which sounds great.  I am now down to just one membership. I picked up Bluff as a Daily Deal since it sounded interesting and grabbed Girl Last Seen from the current sale.

Fated by Benedict Jacka (Won @ Books of My Heart)
Wild Country by Anne Bishop (NetGalley)
Seductive Nights: The Complete Julia and Clay Collection by Lauren Blakely (Kindle Purchase)
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren (NetGalley)

I added two books from NetGalley this week.  I am going to have to slow down or I am going to completely fail at keeping the total review copies I add in 2019 under 52.  I am really excited to read Wild Country and The Unhoneymooners so I have no regrets.  I was lucky enough to win Fated from a giveaway hosted by Anne at Books of My Heart and am looking forward to joining in on the read-a-long for the series.

Run Away by Harlan Coben (Publisher)

This was the highlight of my week in regards to acquiring books.  I absolutely LOVE Harlan Coben and may have squealed a bit when I opened a mystery package to find this beauty.  I can’t wait to start reading Run Away!

What books do you add to your shelves this week?
Let me know in the comments and be sure to leave a link to your own STS post!

  1. I've never been able to join readalongs! As soon as I start a book, I read it until I'm finished, hopefully over two days for a normal sized book. I couldn't read a few chapters then have to wait for everyone else and discuss it before moving on!

  2. Good luck with your daughter's college visit! I hate the cold and it has been super cold here. Not a fan!! Oh man so jealous of The Unhoneymooners and Run Away. Hope you enjoy both. Have a great week!

  3. Good luck with the school visit! And omg, tell me about this weather! Now I like cold weather, but I honestly prefer it to be above freezing! Lol.

Nice new reads!! Can't wait for Wild Country, though it feels like eons since I read the first book of the new series instead of a year! Lol!

Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  4. Hopefully it will be a good college visit. Oh, hope you're not catching something. I had my turn with the flu bug for half this week and it was not fun.
A great haul and I agree that sometimes adding a book to the pile is a no regret decision. 🙂 Yay for your book win and the unsolicited treasure.

    Have a good week, Carole!

  5. I hope you enjoy the college visit. When we travel I enjoy listening to audiobooks in the car and trying new restaurants. I hope your daughter does well and figures out if she really likes the school or not.

I also got Of Blood and Bone when the use 2 credits, get a $5 coupon happened I think. I also look forward to Wild Country. I've been reading some odd stuff for COYER and to take advantage of the KU and AR deals I have.

I'm so glad you're on the Read-along, it is just one book a month which shouldn't be too bad. Here's to a great week! Anne – Books of My Heart

  6. I hope the interview went well, and that you kept quiet (LOL). I am so jelly you have the new CLo. I just requested it this morning, so hopefully I get it too. Take care and I hope you are able to keep the illness away from your home.

  7. Good luck with the college visit and interview! 3 1/2 hours isn't too bad of a distance. How exciting to get a mystery package with a favorite author. Love when that happens! Have a great week!

  8. Nice haul of books. I got my copy of Wild Country and plan to start it as soon as I finish another ARC I'm reading. I hope things go well at the college for your daughter. Stay warm!

  9. That series from Lauren Blakely looks like a good one! Of Blood and Bone looks good too, I just got Year One recently so excited to check out that series from Nora Roberts. Happy reading!

  10. 3 1/2 hours is so far away. Bummer about the cold weather. Seeing posting like this make me glad I live in Southern California. Although, I'm not so glad during the summer when we have weeks of triple digits. I hope we both enjoy Wild Country! I just downloaded a copy of The Unhoneymooners this afternoon since it sounded really good! Good luck in keeping your ARCs under control! 🙂

  11. I hope the trip went well. I had was taking my daughter to a few schools in the fall to decided on one in the fall. She is a senior and hoping she gets into the one she likes. Have a wonderful week and glad you got a happy package! =)

  13. Sending good vibes for the scholarship! ?

I adore the cover of The Unhoneymooners. ?✨

It's been brutally cold here, too, and I hate it. Here's to better weather. Have a wonderful week. ?

  14. Oh no, I hope you both aren't getting ill! I love that you have a certain role to play when it comes to visiting the university. Hope she enjoys it and really likes it upon visiting. And yay for a new Nora Robarts and Anne Bishop book ^.^
