I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
Even though this was a shorter work week, I felt even more exhausted than usual. On Monday, we ended up with some last-minute plans and were able to see our daughter for a short visit, followed by a family party to celebrate my niece and nephew’s 11th birthday.
There was nothing too exciting during the 4 day work week, but the library is feeling busier as kids end the school year. I started working at the library in August of last year, so this will be my first experience with the busier summer months. I felt tired all week and decided to call it a day early on Friday, and went to bed before 8 pm after getting home from work. Sometimes I feel so old!

Saturday morning, we got up and participated in the Cardinals 5k. My goal was to have a better time than the last 5k, and we did that. After finishing the race, we were able to take a victory lap around the field, which was kind of neat. We ended the day by going to the movies to see Karate Kid: Legends, and thought it was an entertaining film.
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished one book this week, and it was a good one. I enjoyed Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning just as much as I did when I first read it.

I jumped right into Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning just as soon as I finished the previous book in the series. I just can’t get enough of this series, and I love that it’s getting me excited about reading again. I started Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera during one of my off-desk hours at work. I am planning to lead a book discussion of this book in July, so I’m glad it seems like it will be a great read.

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

Oh nice! Congrats on the 5K that’s awesome! I don’t think I could handle that myself. I’m more of a walker than a runner! I could walk it for sure, but the time would not be so great! Lol. Ah yes, summer months at the library, things might definitely start picking up, especially once it gets to our bloody hot weather. It’s either the pool, the movies, or the library! All great summer picks! At least it makes the day go by faster. I know I’ve gone to bed super early on weekends before too.
Nice new reads! I picked up Gillig’s book last week when I went to the signing. I probably will hold off until next year to read it for bingeing purposes! I finally binged her first duology last month ahead of time for the signing and liked it, so I suspect I will enjoy this one too!
Hope you enjoy the lovely new reads!

I really liked Listen for the Lie! I thought it was a fun mystery. And I, too, have been running tired lately. I remember when I used to love going out at night; now I just want to go to bed. ;D
Looking good Carole. Sometimes you jut need some rest. You’ve been through a lot of change this year. Take care of you.

Sounds like you had a pretty good week. I want to see the new Karate Kid movie.
Way to go with the 5 k!
I go through spells where my body just informs me that I need more rest and doesn’t give me much room to argue about it! I hope you’re feeling better. I’m curious about Listen to the Lie. It looks like an interesting thriller. Yay for hitting your goals about the 5K! I hope you’re having a wonderful week.
