I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.
My Life
Sorry about missing last week’s post! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! Both of my girls came home for a visit. My youngest flew in last Thursday night and left Tuesday morning. My oldest flew in Saturday morning and left on Sunday, which was a very quick trip. We visited the wedding venue and shopped for a wedding dress. I had more time with my youngest, so we also did some shopping and did a few things around the house. My husband and I took off work last Friday, and on Monday while she was home to enjoy her visit.
While we were off on Monday, we decided to go see a movie. Instead of just buying a ticket for my husband and me, we joined the movie club, which allows us to see up to 4 movies per week. We saw Sinners on Monday, The Accountant 2 on Friday, and Clown in a Cornfield on Saturday. They were all very different movies, and we enjoyed them all.
It is funny. Reading has been my primary hobby for a long time. When I had free time, I picked up a book and didn’t even consider doing anything else. Then my retina tore and I was under doctor’s order not to read for several months. I was forced to find new ways to spend my time and I think that I am having fun exploring what else is out there. I do want to keep reading so I hope to find a good balance sometime soon. (And I hope that my vision improves a bit more.)
How was your week?
What I’m Reading
I finished two books in the past couple of weeks. I recommended Karen Marie Moning’s Fever Series to one of my co-workers at the library, and I decided to pick up my copy when she told me she started reading it. I read Darkfever in just 2 days and felt like I was getting back into reading, so I jumped right into Bloodfever and enjoyed it just as much as before.

I plan to start reading Faefever this week. Right now, reading just seems to be harder, so I am ready to pick up whatever sounds good to me right now.

Books Added

What books do you add to your shelves this week?

How wonderful you got to spend time with your girls. It is interesting to see how you can fill your time when you can’t do one thing. I had to abandon many well-loved hobbies due to repetitive stress injuries. I miss them.
Glad you had a nice time with your daughters for Mother’s Day! Sounds like a very nice day! And ooh movies! I feel like I used to go so much more but then Covid happened and then I just kind of stopped. Harder to find the 3-4 hours on the weekends to spare to see said movies. I also think there just hasn’t been any that have made me excited to go back. Even with the Disney films I haven’t seen a lot of last year’s. In fact my first post-Covid movie was last year with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! Lol. There is one or two releasing this year that I kind of want to see as soon as I can but I guess we’ll see how the summer goes! Lol.
Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!

Glad you had such a lovely Mother’s Day weekend. It’s awesome you are enjoying many different activities. Because of the crazy politics this year, I am more of a moody reader and tend to only read things I really want. But there still seems to be a large number of things I want to read. But since we got the TV for Christmas I do tend to watch tv every night after dinner, sometimes knitting then too.

I’m looking forward to seeing Sinners. It looks good.
Movie club sounds great 😀 I would love to watch more movies
I’m so glad you had a good Mother’s Day. It is fun to explore all the other options and nice to get some balance. I hope you’re having a great week!
