Publication Date: February 26, 2013 (first published 1991)
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
On a rainy Southern night, Jade Sperry endured a young woman’s worst nightmare at the hands of three local hell-raisers. Robbed of her youthful ideals and at the center of scandal and tragedy, Jade ran as far and as fast as she could. But she never forgot the sleepy “company town” where every man, woman, and child was dependent on one wealthy family. And she never forgot their spoiled son, who, with his two friends, changed her life forever. Someday, somehow, she’d return, exact a just revenge — and free herself from fear, and the powerful family that could destroy her.
Why did I add Breath of Scandal to my bookshelf?
This is another old book sitting on my NetGalley shelf and I can’t tell you why I haven’t found the time to read it yet. I like Sandra Brown’s books a lot which is why I requested the book back in 2015. Hopefully, I can fit this one in sometime this year since I am working hard to clean up my past due ARCs in 2019.
What are your thoughts? Have you read this book? Would you recommend it to others?

I have yet to read a Sandra Brown book, although her work seems really popular. I hope you enjoy this one when you get to it, Carole.
Thanks, Wendy!
haven't read her before, sounds interesting tho. what did you think about it
I promise to write a review just as soon as I have the chance to read it 🙂
From what I've seen of your review posts, you're doing great at the older ARC clean ups. This does look great so it probably will be a good one when you get the chance.
I am really giving it my best try this year. Thanks, Sophia Rose!
I'm happy I'm not the only one who has ARCs dating back to 2015! I don't feel too bad about most of them because they were Read Nows that were still up after their pub dates, but there are a couple I did request. ?
Should I admit that I have quite a few from 2013?
Ha! I probably would, too, if I had been on Netgalley back then. ?
I've not read anything by this author but the synopsis does sound good. Hope you find time for it soon!
Thanks, Barb!
Oh this is an author I really enjoy and I would probably like to read this one. Anne – Books of My Heart
This is an older one of hers so I am hoping it will stand up well.
I haven't read anything by the author or heard of her work. Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you!
I did read a few books by the author
I do love her books!
Ooh! I'd love to read your thoughts on Breath of Scandal. I don't recognize the author but I'm assuming she is popular. I'm sure she is popular for a reason. I'm sure you'll like this once you've gotten the chance to read it.
It's nice to know there are more people with really late ARCs they haven't read. My latest ones are from 2012. I really want to get to at least 7 this year if not more. There would be so much relief once I've read all those backlogged books that I can.
She has been writing for years, Adriana. I am hoping to knock out a lot of my backlog this year. I have review books from 2013.
I loved this one. I hope you do get a chance to read it.
Good to know!
I say eh, read 5 ages and decide 😉
I plan to at least give it a try.
I haven't read it but I sure hope she gets revenge.
I am all for revenge!
I agree with Mary's comment- I read that synopsis and I was like "get em"! It does sound good though.
I think you and Mary have the right idea!
I've not read this one and it sounds like another thrilling read from Sandra.
She has so many great books!
I have heard a lot about Sandra Brown but have never read a book by her. Also, as its one on your netgalley shelf I hope you will be able to get to it soon 🙂
I read this one and loved it. Hope you do too.

I've never read Sandra Brown, but she is on my list to try. I've heard so many great things. Maybe one day. So many great authors, so little time. I hope you enjoy this one once you get started.
