This week’s neglected book

Never Come Back by David Bell

Publication Date: October 1, 2013
Publisher: Berkley Publishing Group

Elizabeth Hampton is consumed by grief when her mother dies unexpectedly. Leslie Hampton cared for Elizabeth’s troubled brother Ronnie’s special needs, assuming Elizabeth would take him in when the time came. But Leslie’s sudden death propels Elizabeth into a world of danger and double lives that undoes everything she thought she knew….

When police discover that Leslie was strangled, they immediately suspect that one of Ronnie’s outbursts took a tragic turn. Elizabeth can’t believe that her brother is capable of murder, but who else could have had a motive to kill their quiet, retired mother?

More questions arise when a stranger is named in Leslie’s will: a woman also named Elizabeth. As the family’s secrets unravel, a man from Leslie’s past who claims to have all the answers shows up, but those answers might put Elizabeth and those she loves the most in mortal danger.

Why did I add Never Come Back to my bookshelf?
I bought this book for a great price from Book Outlet a year or two ago.  Don’t you just love Book Outlet?  I do and have bought quite a few books from the site.  I have a confession to make….I haven’t read a single book that I have bought from them yet.  Seems kind of silly doesn’t it?  Anyway, I really have liked David Bell’s writing and this one sounds wonderful.   I do look forward to reading it sometime soon.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it to others?

  1. That is a hoot that you haven't read one of them yet. I adore Book Outlet, but have to really restrain myself. Except Black Friday weekend, then I go hog wild. LOL

    This does sound really good.

  2. This sounds thrilling and I've enjoyed his books before. The linky is working! I couldn't play along this week but so happy I can join in again next week. I love good deals on books and snatch them up. Don't feel alone… I still have some I haven't read. LOL

  3. I love Book Outlet – my wallet, not so much. That'w why I intentionally don't visit their site much. I actually haven't heard of this book but I'm super curious. Read it soon and tell me if I should pick it up 🙂

  4. Hmmm maybe? It sounds like a mystery / thriller sort and if you enjoy the author, it's probably goo. Anne – Books of My Heart

  5. I haven't really explored Book Outlet and it really seems like I need to keep it that way! I read a David Bell book last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely sounds like I need to add this one to my TBR.
