All's faire in love and war for two sworn enemies who indulge in a harmless flirtation in a laugh-out-loud rom-com from debut author, Jen DeLuca.
Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?
The faire is Simon's family legacy and from the start he makes clear he doesn't have time for Emily's lighthearted approach to life, her oddball Shakespeare conspiracy theories, or her endless suggestions for new acts to shake things up. Yet on the faire grounds he becomes a different person, flirting freely with Emily when she's in her revealing wench's costume. But is this attraction real, or just part of the characters they're portraying?
This summer was only ever supposed to be a pit stop on the way to somewhere else for Emily, but soon she can't seem to shake the fantasy of establishing something more with Simon, or a permanent home of her own in Willow Creek.
Why did I add Well Met to my bookshelf?
I am not going to lie….when it comes to books, I have a serious case of FOMO. When I see a book that everyone seems to be loving, I want to love it too so I try to get my hands on a copy. Unfortunately, I just can’t read fast enough to keep up but I am giving it my best shot. I didn’t hesitate to add this book to my Book of the Month box when I saw that it was offered. I will get to it…someday.
What are your thoughts? Have you read this book? Would you recommend it?
Oh I don’t know of this one
Looks cute 🙂
I hope you enjoy your rediscovered book! I am loving this event, as I have found and read so many unexpected treasures!
I am a fan of this series, and book 1 was so good. I hope you get the time to visit the Faire at some point.
Hi Carole! I’m still drooling about your new blog template and design. It’s sooooo lovely!
I’ve seen Well Met around (same as you), but it’s not quite my reading preference, so nope – I’ll probably not read it! But it does seem like a lot of fun for sure!
So sorry I didn’t join Books from the Backlog for such a long time, the weeks just fly by on my side!
Hope you are well otherwise.
I’ve seen this one really loved on, too. Yep, occasionally I grab a book just because I want to see what all the fuss is about. 🙂
I really enjoyed this. I just read this and the next one maybe a month ago to prep for the third one coming out in Sept? I think Sept. Anyway personal growth so it’s good.
hope you enjoy it when you get to it

Ah so many books so little time, I know that cursed saying well too!
I enjoyed this one, but have yet to continue on with the series. I hope you will, too!
I have heard some good things about this one, and I hope it meets up with your expectations!!
There never seems to be enough time to read all the books we want to.
I have sooo many books that I bought for the exact same reason! I hope you enjoy it when you get to it.
I think this looks fun and I like the Renaissance faire angle. 🙂
I picked this up expecting just a cute read but it ended up being a big surprise! I listened to it on audio and I really fell in love with the main characters – and all the secondary characters. I hope you’ll enjoy it if you decide to pick it up!
I haven’t read this one, but I totally get why you would like to read it. It sounds fun. Hopefully you’ll get to it one day 😉
