Witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan needs to save the demonic realm of the Ever After in the eleventh entry in the New York Times bestselling Hollows series from supernatural adventure master Kim Harrison.

When Rachel sets off a chain of events that could lead to the end of the world—demonic and human—she must use her gifts to save those closest to her while preventing an apocalypse.

Satisfying and sexy, a visit to the Hollows will take readers on a wild journey that will capture their imagination. Fans of Charlaine Harris and Stephenie Meyer won't be able to resist Kim Harrison's alternative universe—urban fantasy Cincinnati complete with vampires, witches, and other enchanting creatures—where spine-tingling adventures and fast-paced action are the norm.

This was terrific! I seem to be liking this book more and more with each book I read. I have grown to really appreciate Rachel, Jenks, Ivy, and the rest of the group and love seeing them work together to get out of some pretty impossible situations. This book started out with a bang and I was hooked until the end. I am so glad that I decided to get caught up with this series this year.

When Rachel is visiting Trent, Quen, Ceri, and the babies when Ceri and one of the children are taken and Quen is left injured. That should be enough for Rachel to need to worry about but she also needs to fix the ley lines and is on a short timeline to do so. Rachel knows that Ku’Sox is responsible but has no way of proving that to anyone. It seems that one obstacle after another is thrown at her as she tries to save the day. This was a really exciting installment in the series with plenty of surprises to keep me guessing.

Marguerite Gavin does an amazing job with this series. I love all of the voices that she uses for the key characters and I think that her range is amazing. I think that she adds just the right amount of emotion and excitement to her reading. I wanted to listen to this book for hours at a time. I believe that her narration added to my enjoyment of this story.

I would definitely recommend this series to others. This is the eleventh book in the series so I wouldn’t jump in here but it is definitely a worthwhile series. I have loved seeing the characters evolve over the course of the series and cannot wait to see what might happen next.

  1. It’s a great series and I love Marguerite Gavin although I have not listened to this series. I always feel a bit disconnected from Trent and have wished he was better at supporting Rachel. I want them to be together. Rachel is really independent though. Rachel is awesome even if she does take too much on herself at times.

  2. I love Marguerite Gavin as a narrator and I’ve heard so many great things about this author. I really need to try the first book in the series.
