Lucy Gonzalez might have once been a stressed personal assistant, but now she’s hitched up her grandma’s bitchin’ vintage Airstream and hitting the road with all the best places to find cheap eats and see the sights on a shoestring budget.
And she has company along for the ride. If those thirst-worthy abs seem familiar, it’s because they belong to billionaire Miles Hart. True story, he used to be Lucy’s boss until she quit on him. Something about not being appreciated? Anyway, you will appreciate Miles—and his groveling—plenty on this trip.
Now, you have front-row seats to the hottest trip of the year. Sparks! Fireworks! Unexpected smooching! And you won’t want to miss the jaw-dropping surprise that will make this destination totally worth the hilarious journey…
I had fun with this book! I didn’t go into this book with many expectations since this is the first time that I have read this author’s work. I do love a road trip book and I was pleasantly surprised that they made at least one stop not too far from my neck of the woods. I found myself flying through the pages once I started reading this book and couldn’t wait to see Miles and Lucy find their happily ever after together.
Feeling underappreciated and frustrated, Lucy quits her job and decides to try her luck becoming a travel influencer. Her boss MIles, who Lucy happens to be in love with, is lost without her so he decides to tag along on her two-week trip to convince her to come back to the office. Lucy’s plans are to travel Route 66 from Chicago to California stopping at all of the sites along the way. Her goals of getting noticed online come to fruition only after she posts photos of her travel companion minus his shirt. Lucy and Miles end up learning a lot about each other while the sparks fly during their road trip.
I liked Miles and Lucy together. I loved the way Miles finally got to know the real Lucy, which happened to be very different than the reserved woman he thought he knew from the office. Watching them open up to each other and eventually give in to chemistry was great. I really liked the fact that Miles really did want to see Lucy happy as he realized the job he thought she was perfect in may not have left her fulfilled. I had a great time watching them try to figure things out.
I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this book was very well done and loved the fact that it was told from both Miles’s and Lucy’s points of view. There was even enough humor worked into the story to keep things very entertaining. I hope to get my hands on the next book in this fun romantic series.

I am glad that this one was such a solid win! I am glad that this one worked out well for you. Sometimes going into a story with lower expectations can cause you to enjoy it more.
Lovely review!
Excellent review! I think a travel adventure sounds so fun.
Sounds cute!
I haven’t read this author before but I’m glad you liked it.
I love a road trip book, too, and this one sounds like a lot of fun. 😀
Oh yes, I’m a sucker for road trip romances, too.
This does sound fun. I also love road trip books. I like “seeing the sights”, and you know, they tend to help me check those states off my reading challenge.
Love that you get both their perspectives. Lovely review Carole!
This is so utterly cute! I love that Miles, the billionaire, just up and decides to join Lucy bc he can’t do without her!
