*This new edition includes a very special, never-before-seen bonus story, 'Pages to Fill.'*
After a lifetime of bounties and bloodshed, Viv is hanging up her sword for the last time.
The battle-weary orc aims to start fresh, opening the first ever coffee shop in the city of Thune. But old and new rivals stand in the way of success — not to mention the fact that no one has the faintest idea what coffee actually is.
If Viv wants to put the blade behind her and make her plans a reality, she won't be able to go it alone.
But the true rewards of the uncharted path are the travelers you meet along the way. And whether drawn together by ancient magic, flaky pastry, or a freshly brewed cup, they may become partners, family, and something deeper than she ever could have dreamed.
“Take a break from epic battles and saving the world. Legends & Lattes is a low-stakes fantasy that delivers exactly what's advertised: a wholesome, cozy novel that feels like a warm hug. This is my new comfort read.”—Genevieve Gornichec, author of The Witch's Heart

I had a great time with this audiobook! I heard so many great things about this book so I just had to find out what all the fuss was about. I mean if there is a good book out there in the world then I want to make sure that I read it! Well, I was quickly pulled in as Viv worked to get her shop open, and loved getting to know the quirky cast of characters. I am so glad that I decided to give this book a try.
Viv wants to open a coffee shop in the city of Thune. It isn’t going to be easy since nobody even knows what the heck coffee is in this town but she isn’t going to give up. She finds someone willing to help her get the building ready and is able to find the workers she needs, so she just needs to get the people in town to give coffee a chance. Her task will not be without more than a few challenges.
The author did a wonderful job with the narration of this audiobook. He was able to breathe life into this cozy story. I felt like I was right there with the characters as they worked to make the dream of the coffee shop a reality. I liked the various voices that he used for the different characters. I found his voice to be very pleasant and had a very hard time setting the book aside.
I would definitely recommend this book to others. I had a great time with this cozy fantasy with characters that were very easy to like. I do hope to see many more stories set in this wonderful world.
I received this book for free from the publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

When an injury throws a young, battle-hungry orc off her chosen path, she may find that what we need isn't always what we seek.Set in the world of New York Times bestselling Legends & Lattes, Travis Baldree's Bookshops & Bonedust takes us on a journey of high fantasy, first loves, and secondhand books.
Viv's career with the notorious mercenary company Rackam's Ravens isn't going as planned.
Wounded during the hunt for a powerful necromancer, she's packed off against her will to recuperate in the sleepy beach town of Murk—so far from the action that she worries she'll never be able to return to it.
What's a thwarted soldier of fortune to do?
Spending her hours at a beleaguered bookshop in the company of its foul-mouthed proprietor is the last thing Viv would have predicted, but it may be both exactly what she needs and the seed of changes she couldn't possibly imagine.
Still, adventure isn't all that far away. A suspicious traveler in gray, a gnome with a chip on her shoulder, a summer fling, and an improbable number of skeletons prove Murk to be more eventful than Viv could have ever expected.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! I loved this cozy little fantasy world that the author created and thought it was fun to spend a little time with Viv in a new situation. I grew to love this group of characters and wanted to see good things happen to each of them. This book had many of the elements that I enjoyed in the first book but added on a bookshop and reading which was the perfect combination.
Viv is staying in the town of Murk after being injured. During her recovery, she stumbles upon a little bookshop that is barely hanging on. She soon discovers a love of reading and some new friends and they work together to breathe new life into the bookstore. Things get a little more serious when danger comes to town and Viv must work with her new friends to save the day. This book was just a lot of fun with plenty of humor and action to keep things interesting.
I listened to the audiobook and thought that the author, who narrates the book, did a great job of bringing the story to life through his narration. I sometimes worry when I see an author stepping in as narrator but in this case, I think that he was the perfect choice to fill that role. I found his voice to be very pleasant and had no problems listening to this audiobook for hours at a time. I do believe that the narrator added to my enjoyment of this delightful story.
I would recommend this book to others. I found this to be a wonderful little tale that left me feeling happy which is all I ever need a book to do. I hope that we see many more adventures for Viv and her friends in the future.
I received a review copy of this book from Tor Books and Macmillan Audio.
This really sounds like a well-made cozy little fantasy, and I like that there are orcs involved because you don’t read enough with them! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on both these books, Carole 🙂
Robin enjoyed this one too.
Both of these books sound so fun! I especially want to read the first one. 😀
I need that first book!
I can’t wait to read these! I am glad you enjoyed both of them.
I’ve seen the latest book on the blogs lately and all have enjoyed it. It sounds like something I’d like too.
Thanks for the reviews! I picked up the ebooks of both of these, but I was curious about the audiobooks. (I think in this case we didn’t need to worry about the author narrating his own book, since he’s also a professional narrator for books other people write.)
Both of these look really fantastic! I’m really looking forward to reading them both and my library just got #0 on audio so I’m doubly excited.
