A true queen of urban fantasy—the New York Times bestselling author of the wildly popular series featuring bounty hunter witch-turned-daywalking demon Rachel Morgan—the phenomenal Kim Harrison explores the Hollows more deeply than ever before in Into the Woods, her first collection of short stories.

Rachel is here, as are Jenks the pixie, elven tycoon Trent Kalamack, and an unholy host of vampires, demons, shapeshifters, ghosts, and other assorted supernatural beings, friends and foes.

Into the Woods combines original work, including a new Hollows novella, as well as all of Kim Harrison’s previously published short fiction gathered together in one volume for the very first time. No true Hollows aficionado will want to pass this up—and readers of Laurell K. Hamilton, Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher; fans of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novels and of paranormal romance superstars Christine Feehan and Sherrilyn Kenyon, will be likewise enchanted.

Why did I add Into the Woods to my bookshelf?

Why haven’t I read this book yet? I don’t even understand my self at times. A couple of years ago, I got caught up with this series but failed to read this book. I love these characters and am certain that I would enjoy this collection of stories so I don’t know why I skipped it. It might be time to finally tackle this one.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it?

  1. Ooh nice one! For the first time in ever, I am behind in Kim’s books! Only by one book so I am hoping to correct that next month! Lol. I can’t really remember this one as well since I read it way back when but it was Kim Harrison, so naturally I loved it! Hope you can fit it into your reading schedule soon!

  2. I forget how far I got into this series before I got behind and quit. I REALLY want to pick them up again but haven’t decided if I need to reread them (yes, I have but I’m in denial about it). I love her writing and Ivy and Jenks are some of my favorite characters.

  3. I’ve not read any of her books and this series always pops up when I’m looking at a new UF series to start. Hopefully you can polish off this one soon.

  4. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this author. I want to read her books at some point soon. I hope you love this one when you get to it!
