Meet The Dogmothers…two matchmaking grannies who are opposites in life but lined up on love. One has the steel spine of a Greek warrior, the other the heart of an Irish poet. Together, along with a duo of darling dachshunds, these two won’t stop until all their grandchildren are hooked, hitched, and happy.

Firefighter Braden Mahoney’s world is turned upside down when his beloved Weimaraner, Jelly Bean, fails the canine arson investigator test. Desperate to raise funds for Jelly’s advanced training, Braden takes the Dogmothers’ suggestion that he get help from event planner Cassie Santorini. He certainly doesn’t mind the idea of spending time with the Greek goddess who’s captured his attention from the moment she arrived.

For Cassie, family has always come first, and she put her big-city dreams on hold during the years her father was ill. Now, she has a plan to leave, and nothing is going to stop her. But when she works closely with Braden to organize a scavenger hunt, she starts to wonder if those dreams might not be realized right in the small town of Bitter Bark. As they embark on an adventure that puts the fun in fundraising, Cassie and Braden fall deeply in love but can’t quite figure out how to navigate their way into each other’s arms. It’ll take a dog with a bad nose and good heart – and two very determined grannies -- to follow the clues and find their happy ending.

Why did I add Hot Under the Collar to my bookshelf?

It looks like I added this book to my digital library as a freebie a little more than 4 years ago. I most likely completely forgot about it soon after downloading it. I am sure that the dog on the cover would have quickly convinced me to pick this one up. I tend to enjoy small-town romances, and it looks like this book is rated highly by some of my Goodreads friends. I look forward to giving this one a try.

What are your thoughts? Have you read this book?  Would you recommend it?

  1. That’s a new to me one, although the author is ringing a bell…unless I am mixing up two different author names which is also totally possible! Lol. Hope you enjoy this one once you get to read it!
