I really enjoyed this book! Evelyn is a great character. After things go wrong with her vampire ex, she finds herself in another world where she meets Bowen. Bowen is the captain of his ship but has no memories from the days before he became part of the crew. They are attracted to each other right away and soon Bowen is questioning all the things that he thought that he knew.

This book was packed with all the action that I hoped for balanced with just the right amount of romance. And yes, there were plenty of spicy scenes as one would expect from a Katee Robert novel. I thought that the connection between Evelyn and Bowen felt authentic and they really seemed perfect together. I thought that the world the story was set in was fascinating and I look forward to seeing more of it.

I listened to the audiobook and thought Simone Lewis and Will Watt did a great job with the story. I always prefer multiple narrators when the story is told from more than one perspective and I thought these two narrators were able to bring the characters to life remarkably well. I thought that their voices complimented each other very nicely and I am certain that their performance added to my overall enjoyment.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to others. I thought it was a fun story full of surprises, action, great characters, some romances, and just the right amount of spice. I look forward to picking up the next book in this series as soon as it becomes available.
