She's the city girl who refuses to be saddled with a man. He's the cowboy who wants her anyway.
The last thing Ada Hart needs is a man to take care of her. Not anymore. After failing out of her interior design program and the disaster that was her short-lived marriage, Ada clawed her way up from her rock bottom. Now, the only person she trusts is herself, and that has gotten her further than ever before. She has her own business, and one of the largest ranches in Wyoming just hired her for the most important project of her career.
When Ada arrives in Meadowlark, she finds herself in a dive bar where she can't seem to shake the eyes of a handsome cowboy. When she leads him to the back of the bar, he leaves her with a kiss that most people can only fantasize about. She almost regrets that she'll never see him again...except it turns out he's her new boss.
Weston Ryder is a happy guy. Even happier now that the mystery woman from the bar is the interior designer for his dream project on his family's ranch. He feels like he hit the jackpot. Too bad she wants absolutely nothing to do with him outside of work. Ada is convinced the pull she feels toward Wes will go away, but Wes can't stop thinking about her. Even though walls are coming down around Rebel Blue, Ada's walls are firmly in place.
Can they make it through this project without giving in? Or will they both put their dreams on the line for a chance at love?
Oh, I loved this! Ada and Wes were wonderful characters and had sizzling chemistry with each other right out of the gate. It was fun watching them try to keep things professional when it was obvious that it was just a matter of time before they finally admitted that they felt more for one another. Once I started this book, I found it almost impossible to put down. It was one of those feel-good romances that made everything seem better.
After a failed marriage, Ada is determined to be successful in her interior design business. She is thrilled to get the job at Rebel Blue Ranch. When she stops at a local bar on her first night in town and runs into a sexy cowboy, she can’t resist a quick makeout session in a dark hallway. This only becomes a problem when she learns that the sexy cowboy just happens to be her new client. Working together and staying in the same house may be more than either one can handle.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Vanessa Edwin and the great Teddy Hamilton. The narrators did a phenomenal job with this story. They both captured the essence of these characters and added just the right amount of emotion to their reading to make the story come alive. I listened to this audiobook for hours at a time and never wanted to put it down. I am certain that their performance added to my overall enjoyment of this story.
I would highly recommend this book to fans of romance. I fell in love with these characters right away and couldn’t wait to see them find their happily ever after together. This book is the second book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series but can be read as a stand-alone. Fans of the series will enjoy checking in on the characters featured in the first book. I cannot wait to read more of this entertaining series.
I received a review copy of this book from Dial Press and Penguin Random House Audio.
Interesting sort of a throwback cover for a contemporary romance.
That is a truly classic looking cover
Lovely review, Carole! I like the sound of this one. The forced proximity trope is always fun. And Teddy Hamilton is the best!
So glad to see this glowing review as I have a hold for the audiobook. You had me at feel-good (of course)
I love the cover and I really like the sound of this one! I need to add this to my TBR.
