I am really excited to participate in The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Reading Reality.

My Life

This wasn’t a bad week at all. I was a bit anti-social and spent my time doing different things than I usually do but it was a good week overall. I don’t think I picked up a book all week, except for audiobooks at work and during my commute. I spent a lot of time playing games on my phone which is totally unlike me but sometimes you just need to shake things up a bit. I think that the break from reading helped because I am pretty excited to spend some time reading this week.

I only worked 2 shifts at the bookstore this week which made the week feel lighter. This was a scheduling error since they do require a minimum of 3 shifts per week but I enjoyed the break. Things have been a bit busier at my full-time job so I still feel like I running around like a crazy person at times.

I took a break this week from most things with the blog and Instagram. I plan to get back into the swing of things next week and feel excited about it. This is a very good thing because it was starting to feel like another job and it really needs to be fun or what is the point?

How was your week?

What I’m Reading

I feel like I haven’t been reading much but I somehow managed to finish 3 books this week. The best part is that they were all really good! The Trail of Lost Hearts by Tracey Garvis Graves was absolutely fantastic. This author has secured a spot on my favorite author list. I had no idea what Ellie Haycock Is Totally Normal by Gretchen Schreiber was about before picking it up but it didn’t take long to be hooked by Ellie’s story. Carola Lovering has been on my want-to-read list for a long time so I was excited to pick up her upcoming book, Bye, Baby, which I found to be an excellent read.

I don’t think that I picked up The Night Ends with Fire by K.X. Song or The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden this week but I am determined to change that this coming week. I have listened to about 20% of Annie Bot by Sierra Greer and am surprised by just how much I like it.

  1. I agree, hobbies shouldn’t feel like jobs, and you already have two of those anyhow. You don’t need a third. I also loved the Graves book. I was quite a lovely story of healing with some good twists. My daughter would be so jealous to see you have the new Hazelwood. I requested it for her, but not sure I have the clout to get it. Hope you have a good week!

  2. Glad you got a bit of a break, if accidentally this week! Lol. That’s always nice! Didn’t know that B&N required at least 3 days a week to work there. That’s interesting. Glad the unexpected break was recharging at least!

Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all once you get to read them!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. I’m thrilled you were able to have a break. I sometimes do Soduko or read when I need a break. Right now we are powering through Will Trent which I’ve loved all the books. We just keep chanting “Betty!” (the dog).

Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

  4. Sometimes you just need to step away from your normal routine. I have two games than I play on my phone/iPad and they’re great for when I just want to zone out for a bit. Glad to see you really enjoyed The Trail of Lost Hearts. I plan to start it very soon.

  5. So glad you took a break! Hobbies definitely shouldn’t feel like a job. Glad you got a light week at the bookstore! You’ve got some fantastic books. I really want to try The Trail of Lost Hearts and both the Monica Woods book and the Katherine Arden book look great. I hope you had a great week!
