There is a special pre-order campaign going on for Hold Your Breath, where you can receive a Search & Rescue book light and be entered in to win a fabulous gourmet winter reading gift basket from Le Chocolat! Click here for details on how to enter.
We asked Katie Ruggle to answer a few fun questions to get to know her better, welcome Katie!
Coffee or tea?
Tea! I love my tea. Plus, I never formed an addiction to coffee (maybe not enough all-night-paper-writing sessions in college?). When I do have a tiny bit of some floofy coffee drink, I start talking very fast and feel like I very probably might be having a heart attack. So…tea.
What time do you get up?
Ready for this weirdness? Midnight. I have a shift at the bakery that starts at one a.m., so I’m sleeping by late afternoon. Ninety-year-olds have a later bedtime than I do.
What time do you go to bed?
Four p.m.-ish, unless I’m on a writing spree, trying to finish edits or are reading a truly excellent book. In those cases, I go to sleep much too late and then kick myself in the morning.

That’s why Callum, the surly and haunted leader of the close-knit Search and Rescue brotherhood, finds it so hard to let newcomer Louise “Lou” Sparks into his life. But when these rescue divers go face-to-face with a killer, Callum may find that more than his heart is on the line …

About the Author

When she’s not writing, Katie Ruggle rides horses, shoots guns, and travels to warm places where she can SCUBA dive. Graduating from the Police Academy, Katie received her ice-rescue certification and can attest that the reservoirs in the Colorado mountains really are that cold. While she still misses her off-grid, solar- and wind-powered house in the Rocky Mountains, she now lives in Rochester, Minnesota near her family.

  1. You know I had to grab the prequel so I can see if I'm interested in continuing the series. Love those covers! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I LOVED On His Watch!! I got an ARC of Hold Your Breath that I'm dying to dive into but I have a few others I have to read first :/

  3. I have the same sleeping schedule too!!! I bake as well at 2am, so I sleep from 2-11. So fun. hehe I am more of a tea drinker than coffee. I like coffee but its more of a treat for me than a daily ritual.

    • Wow! I don't know if I could handle that kind of schedule. It would actually probably be impossible to have that kind of job and still let my daughter be in all of her activities. I sometimes seem to be running around all evening after I get home from my 8 hour workday.
