In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder…
Ice rescue diver Derek Warner never meant to be a hero. But when two little girls go missing, he’s the first in line to bring them home-even if that means scouring the wilderness with the woman he once loved and lost, Artemis Rey.
Artemis has never stopped wanting Derek. Now, racing to find the girls before it’s too late, minutes turn to hours. Night falls. Old flames rekindle. And a danger grows in the darkest wilderness that may be more than even the Search and Rescue brotherhood can hope to face…
In the remote wilderness of the Rocky Mountains, rescue groups—law enforcement, rescue divers, firefighters—are often the only hope for the lost, the sick and the injured. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can lead to murder.
That’s why Callum, the surly and haunted leader of the close-knit Search and Rescue brotherhood, finds it so hard to let newcomer Louise “Lou” Sparks into his life. But when these rescue divers go face-to-face with a killer, Callum may find that more than his heart is on the line …
About the AuthorWhen she’s not writing, Katie Ruggle rides horses, shoots guns, and travels to warm places where she can SCUBA dive. Graduating from the Police Academy, Katie received her ice-rescue certification and can attest that the reservoirs in the Colorado mountains really are that cold. While she still misses her off-grid, solar- and wind-powered house in the Rocky Mountains, she now lives in Rochester, Minnesota near her family.
You know I had to grab the prequel so I can see if I'm interested in continuing the series. Love those covers! Thanks for sharing!
I did the same thing, Lekeisha! It is great that the prequel is out right now and it is free so that we have a chance to check this series out. It looks like a good one.
Thank you for having me! 🙂
I can't wait to read On His Watch! Looking forward to this series!
I LOVED On His Watch!! I got an ARC of Hold Your Breath that I'm dying to dive into but I have a few others I have to read first :/
I am so glad that you loved it. I hope to get a chance to read it soon. I grabbed the freebie. I have a widget for Hold Your Breath but I have resisted…so far. 🙂
Fun little interview! Crazy schedule to maintain! I will have to check these out. Thanks for sharing!
I couldn't imagine having a schedule like this. I don't think that I could do it to be honest. This series does look very promising.
Those are some crazy hours. I'll have to grab the novella.
I am pretty sure that I would be a zombie if I tried to keep that kind of schedule. I am looking forward to reading this series!
I haven't heard of these before, but I'm going to check out the novella for sure! I don't think I could have my day and night turned upside down like that… I find it really hard to sleep when it's light outside, just as I find it hard to stay awake when it's dark.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

You can't go wrong with a freebie, Lexxie! I would have a hard time waking up for work in the middle of the night. I am more of a night owl and hate the early mornings. Enjoy your weekend!
I have the same sleeping schedule too!!! I bake as well at 2am, so I sleep from 2-11. So fun. hehe I am more of a tea drinker than coffee. I like coffee but its more of a treat for me than a daily ritual.
Wow! I don't know if I could handle that kind of schedule. It would actually probably be impossible to have that kind of job and still let my daughter be in all of her activities. I sometimes seem to be running around all evening after I get home from my 8 hour workday.
