I am really excited to participate in Stacking the Shelves, a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I had a pretty good week. It felt somewhat busy and I didn’t get as much done as I wanted but that is becoming quite normal. This next week should be very exciting. My 15 year old daughter is running a half marathon on Sunday morning (she does not get the motivation from me) and playing in a jazz group at a restaurant that night. She leaves on Wednesday to go to Philadelphia with her band for 5 days. My husband and I are both on vacation during her trip. We are looking forward to finding out if we still like each other without the kid around.

I have been trying to stay away from NetGalley but I did get one new book for review. I am really excited about And I Darken and am looking forward to reading it. I only bought one book this week so I am pretty happy about that fact as well. I actually caught Every Heart a Doorway on sale for only $2.99 as a pre-order. I really enjoyed it but did notice that it is currently selling for $9.99 so I am feeling really good that I ordered it when I did.

I really have no idea how long it will take me to get to my new book from Paperback Swap but it is nice to know that it is waiting for me when I am ready to read it. I was really excited to get the adult coloring book to review. It is really very lovely – look for my review to be posted soon!

I haven't been letting myself request books on NetGalley but I really wanted And I Darken so I caved. I am thrilled that my request was approved.
Wow! She does have a lot of motivation. It'll be fun to have the few days to yourself with your daughter out of town. She's not too far away from going off to college! I like the look of your books this week but none are familiar so I look forward to your reviews!
She never seems to stop, Katherine! Her first year of high school has passed by quickly so college is really right around the corner.

We are actually having a staycation I guess. It is nice to be in a quiet house. I would wait for a price drop as well. It is such a short book and I would hate to pay $10 for it.

My daughter is such a busy girl. She actually completed her half marathon in 2 hours 40 minutes which I thought was great.
LOL, I hope you and your husband will realize that you still really like each other without your daughter around! Good luck to her in the mini marathon today.

oh I adore Mia Marlowe…she is great and this new series of her is so unique!! I really had a jolly good time with Heat Exchange, the humor was fabulous.
